Thread: Ostheer Sniper (1v1), Large Post24 May 2014, 03:57 AM Yeah, I've changed my mind. Ostheer sniper is pretty good especially against T2 and conscript spam. It trades up survivability with lethality and can easily drain a lot of manpower from the manpower intensive soviets. That being said I have countersniped Ostheer snipers a few times by keeping my sniper on hold fire, in cover near my troops and when the Ostheer sniper comes in range I will counter snipe. I've never managed to countersnipe a Soviet sniper yet since a) you need vet 1 b) I'll rather use armoured car or tanks to chase down snipers since Ostheer sniper is too risky. IMO, not a good idea to change anything yet otherwise Ostheer sniper will become too OP. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Giap Vs Jesulin on Langres24 May 2014, 03:45 AM This game showcases why conscript spam is not viable on north langres as your cutoff will get abused to death. I learnt the hard way as well. Giap could have ended the game much earlier with a quick P4, the only thing he got from T4 was a panther?! He almost gave the game away to Jesulin, and Jesulin could have drove the nail in the coffin with killing that panther that had no gun and destroyed engine... Also if Jesulin had gone for snipers during the middle of the game he could have had a much easier time. Instead he suicided 5 or so Shermans into that elefant. Giap should have gone for a brumbar with the elefant on the field or even an p4 to end the game much earlier. In: Replays
Thread: Mines against Ost; Too efficient23 May 2014, 15:41 PM The problem with mines atm is that they're so random. Sometimes one guy can walk ahead of the pack and just run into the mine and die. Other times your entire squad will bunch up and walk into the mine and die at full health. Obviously this can be easily solved by bringing back symmetric vcoh mines and relegating S-mines and teller mines to doctrinal abilities. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Penals18 May 2014, 03:35 AM Penals are quite good to get late game if you lose your conscripts and you're opponent is fielding lots of infantry. The flamethrower they are upgraded with even when unvetted packs a lot more punch than conscripts. And you will usually have AT out by that time. In: COH2 Gameplay
