Against soviets it is less viable. If its buffed anymore it will be way to strong imo. The fact that you don't have to spend manpower to reinforce, coupled w/ the fact that it is extremely mobile more than makes up for a lack of scaling. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: What is it about the Luchs that makes it suck?13 Jul 2014, 02:16 AM I think it has to do with the fact that OKW flak weapons (this applies to the luchs, the flakHQ, and the flak HT) tend to shoot anything at all in front of their target, even if its the slightest variation in elevation, a tiny shrub, or a wooden fence. It also comes rather late to act as an anti infantry shock unit. It struggles to win against the american AA halftrack, and is not particularly great at killing infantry. Its a unit that I think could serve the OKW well in terms of its ability to consolidate an early game advantage and leverage a strong early game into a solid mid game, but it falls short due to the time frame that it arrives, and the fact that it is mediocre overall. Maxim is instant pin, while the german MGs need 3 or 4 salvos. This is bullshit! Also hard to flank Maxim because of the fast set up time and the ridicilous team size! That is absolute bullshit. Should be 3 or 4 like everybody else or less effective MG42s are extremely effective at what they do. The only time they take 3-4 salvos is at max range and in green/(possibly) yellow cover, which is functioning appropriately. Yes sometimes they take a little bit long to target initially but by and large they serve their function well. The last thing this game needs is another period of viable mg42 spam. One thing to note, however, is there is a bug that causes the mg34 (not sure if this happens w/ the 42 as well) to set up in the exact opposite direction you tell it too. Its fucking infuriating and needs to be fixed. In: COH2 Gameplay

On certain maps you can use it to lock down 2 vps and create a really strong defensive position. Its still quite functional, its just really expensive in terms of pop cap for an immobile AT gun. I honestly don't want hoards of rifles and panzerfuisilers running around instagibbing vehicles like we see with grens and cons. Honestly I would rather them change the conscripts at nade and gren pfaust to the WFA style infantry soft counter to vehicles. I think these units are already strong enough in combat and don't really need any more added utility. A damaged engine is extremely crippling for any vehicle and the at nade and pfaust is way to effective for the munition cost imo. In: COH2 Gameplay

No offense to my opponent, but I think this is a good example of how imbalanced the US is at the moment. My play was far from perfect. I was late to tech, I didn't build my pak43, and at times I just wasn't sure wtf to do, but I'm sure everyone can relate to how frustrating it feels as OKW at times to not have the tools needed to deal w/ a wide variety of threats. Here is the strat > Go fast flak, wipe squads w/ blobs and focus fire, spam white phosphorus, build as many easy 8s as you have fuel. He made horrible, horrible trades with his easy 8s and I still could have easily lost if I couldn't have held out to the KT. I feel exhausted after every damn okw game, but hey at least its exciting! I was hoping to stall to a king tiger at the end for the lulz but he quit early : ( Oh by the way, after watching this replay i'm sure people will say that the stuka needs a nerf. In: Replays
