Thread: Pio spamm -_-13 Jul 2013, 19:52 PM Pio Spam doesn't really work well at all. They don't stick up to anything in combat except Combat Engineers, and that's touch and go. If the German manages to maintain a serious level of aggressiveness and out plays you in terms of micro, map awareness and map control, a 3 or 4 Pio build can be ridiculously effective if it has the right support elements. But in reality if you're facing Pio spam just spam Conscripts and preemptively build some Anti-Tank. They're not going to have all those repair units around and not take advantage of it. Conscripts out-DPS Pioneers at all ranges, and have more health than them. They're more expensive but they're the most efficient counter because they scale extremely well into the late game. It's like they're afraid if they start holding them accountable the development team stops making a good game. Look, I like the Relic team, they're cool guys and they have interesting ideas, but I wouldn't hesitate to give serious criticism about anything they do that I don't like. As a consumer who paid a significant sum of money for this product, it's my entitlement to complain about the service to those who I've paid - my service providers. Developers aren't gods, they're not people to place on a pedestal. They're simply people doing their jobs and they are capable of mistakes. In: COH2 Gameplay

I didn't suddenly start spamming them because they got a 33% HP buff. MG42 teams are just as vulnerable to everything as they always were. Except now the German player has a realistic level of survivability instead of instantly losing any set up teams to a flamer half track or a Molotov. In: COH2 Balance

The primary way cheat detection is made is by taking the source code of the hack and trying to find a way to detect it using a hook or something along those lines. The only way Relic can preemptively catch cheaters is by installing rootkits onto your computer, which is illegal. You're going to be stuck reporting them for investigation after the fact. The good news is: Steam. If someone is caught hacking their account is banned and they at least lose access to CoH2, if not all of their games. Thread: Fragmentation Bombs30 Jun 2013, 18:36 PM As a frequent user of Frag Bombs, I think they're incredibly potent. If you use them vs. vehicles, you're gonna have a bad time. If you want to quickly take out a set up team or entrenched troops, it' right up your alley. The call in time is insanely quick and it's an almost guaranteed squad kill. Ofcoure, it's better in defensive situations because it gets called in even quicker because the closer to your base the less time the plane has to travel. My main gripe with it is that as a directional attack you can't actually AIM the thing. We had this in DoW2 and CoH1, why not here? Though it does tend to come from the same direction all the time - your base - so it's pretty predictable. Regardless, I find the time from calling it in to it actually hitting to be a bit too fast to be fair. Then again, you'd probably avoid it with an instant retreat for non-set up teams, and it costs a hell load of munitions. In 1vs1 I'd say they're quite balanced. In team games where the skill cap is generally lower and there's alot more going on the field, they may be a bit too potent. In: COH2 Balance
