The problem isn't the 222 underperforming, its that Ost needs a more reliable AI vehicle that it can harrass with and drive off infantry effective effectively. Ost already is super defensive and on top of that they have no mid game unit that the enemy actually has to "deal with" ---> buy AT gun. I haven't played 1v1 for a while now but I do see the rather scary gap between t2 and t3 that ostheer usually loses in while playing 1v1s. I agree with many of the higher ranked players who play all factions that the 222 needs a different role than light recon vehicle. In: COH2 Balance

Elefant is only really worth it on minsk and rails. Ive juggled between the two alot but I like the recon stuka and riegel AT mines that come with Jaeger Armor. Going support crew heavy as ost necessitates command tank. All they have is pack howi and doctrinal indirect. Pack howi needs to know where to fire at becuase you'll constantly be repositioning units and if they do see you, they are getting sniped to death. Imo, heavy support as ost requires spotting scopes. Paks and mgs are lethal when firing at max range. Youll also find you won't bleed mp at all because they can't even touch you FYI, I'm currently top 30 for ost 2v2 and this is how I do it. Thread: 2v2 USF ONLY!26 Jan 2016, 01:27 AM Jaeger armor doctrine - spotting scopes on your Halftrack, - 2x mg42 - 2x sniper - 2x pak - 2x pios. - gren for faust This into p4s and stugs is awesome. The scopes let you see the enemy blob and suppress them before they see you. Snipers bleed them, paks and tellers deal with all vehicles. Only problem you'll have is the Calliopes. That's why you go t3 and spam mediums. If played right you'll never need to retreat and youll always be bleeding them with snipers. Soooooo fun. Dependant on map and micro though. I love this strat because it doesnt rely to heaviky on munis and fuel and its really easy for your ally to maibtain aggresion because youre defending for him. This strat is very slow until yiu get tanks out. The snipers will have your ebeny tearing their hair out in minutes. In: COH2 Balance

Don't use Panzer Grenadiers because they are rather weak and the cost for the panzershreck upgrades price really aren't worth what you get out of it. Don't use flame halftracks since they are too weak and get killed easily. Don't use pioneers with flamethrowers since they are fragile and killed easily. So basically, just always go for incendiary artillery and mortar half track doctrine? Is that what I need to do? If it'd just a morat pit, use the above units. If it's a mortar pit + Bofors, A.) ignore them and really pressure elsewhere and get tanks fast. He won't be able to help much elsewhere because of his investments in the emplacements and will be slow to get his own tanks as well. Or B.) Get help from your ally to double team it with paks mortars and flame pios. In: COH2 Balance
