Want to know a great game...Ask Barton about his SNF final vs Andy is Rippin.....that was so intense it went down to a Kv8 not changing to flame mode - Barton won as a result (and Andy left coh2 unfortunately).
You casted this game hence (imo) undeserved statement of greatest coh2 game of all time..... however as previously mentioned it was fun to watch.
I said that in-cast, understandably in the heat of the momoent, however it'd probably get in the top 10 or 20 games in the past year all things considered.
Barton vs. Cruzz was better game as a tactical contest goes:
OCF had this as a possible problem Ami, players could have had a password on obs to bypass delay and given it their friends, it was not in the rules to stop it, and was part of the obs feature at the time.
OCF rules "Feel free to stream your matches during the Open Qualification Tournament. For the Main Event, we request that you do not stream, and allow our Casters to broadcast your games via ObsMode with an 8 minute delay."
So this is not an isolated issue inherent to these tournaments.
To reiterate the only way to make it work under current obs system is:
- mandatory universal delay
- no obs bypass password allowed. (explicitly stated.)
I agree with these classically, although our classical ideas of campy wehrmacht vs. flanking allies is being challenged by the new meta and the post December balance changes making four of five armies viable in multiple strategies.
Tbh I think if we were doing a hypothetical super tournament with a mega prize pool right now, we'd need a proper look at it, and keep an open mind about things.
No, there have been no ninja features added, it is simply a case of delay bypass passwords, which has always been a feature, and a problem.
I have relayed these problems to Relic/ESL as I became aware of the issue keenly during chats to players yesterday.
In my opinion if they could have had time to refine how the obs system works to make it fairer, make the casts as live as possible, whilst also protecting the players from other players cheating I think it would have been good.
However as it is, I'd prefer it if the rules were what we're accustomed to, no bypass password, and a mandatory wait period for all.
So basically Relic/ESL need to realise that having pick is a disadvantage as you get counterpicked, I explained that within days of the rules being posted. The loser having pick is a disadvantage, it should be the winner, or it should be on the same map and swap axis/allies.
The fixed positions needs to say Allies start in position 1, hopefully that text gets added.
