Thread: USF Mortar Half Track20 Nov 2014, 20:40 PM It's a pretty common trend among USF units to be generally bad but have a useful (possibly also expensive) ability. - Greyhound (Canister shot) - Pack Howitzer (HE barrage and of course WP barrage) - AT Gun (Take Aim! and AP rounds) - Captain (On Me! and Supervise are free at least) The greyhound is probably the most extreme example. The munitions costs and micro requirements to use all these various abilities makes it hard to justify purchasing them. I'd rather get a scott out 40 fuel faster than try to make a mortar halftrack work. It performs the same role way more effectively because it doesn't rely on an expensive ability to inflict real damage. In: COH2 Balance

USF does rely rather heavily on doctrinal features to remain viable in the mid to late game, and is quite munitions expensive as well. But I'd also argue that soviets suffer from the former, and ostheer from the latter. I'm all for changes to USF to give them a fighting chance, but it's important to articulate that in a reasonable and constructive way. In: COH2 Balance

Relic is not going to feel any particular pressure to respond to a thread like this. As a dev, it would take only a few seconds to glance on it (if they even bother that much time), shrug their shoulders and move on to a calm, reasonable discussion. Using caps, expletives, and emotionally charged language does not make your arguments any more worthwhile. In fact, it undermines them. In: COH2 Balance
