Thread: The Titans Tanks Duke it Out!6 Sep 2014, 18:46 PM This was one hell of a game. It looked very positive towards me in the beginning, towards my opponent in the middle, and then it was a harrowing fight till the end. Shock+IS-2 Doctrine worked well, that IS-2 gives so much needed late game power (I'm mean T34s? Come on.) and shocks do quite decently too. But not like penals. Featuring: Soviets! Shockrifle Frontline Doctrine! Unit preservation goes out of the window! An opportunity missed... KV-8 roasting and boasting! This unit has assisted/done too many squad wipes... Ring around the base! Raketenwerfer to the rescue! OKW! Special Ops Doctrine! Raketenwerfer says fuck you to combat engineers! Obers with infrared STG44s? Many of them? The volks/ober blob of DOOOOOM! Radio silence used frequently! Command Panther going balls deep! KT onto the field! Wait...is there another behind him? This game had me sweating (or maybe it is just hot) but I hope it is worth the watch. In: Replays

Thread: Mutually Assured Destruction!5 Sep 2014, 05:01 AM A mostly one sided game that features some very noteworthy things. Also on a quest to find the perfect doctrine for 4x penal start against okw. NKVD kinda works, but provides very little late game prowess. So onto greener doctrines! Featuring: Soviets! Shockrifle Frontline Doctrine! Do I need to say penals? Shock and penal team! T34/76 dances with the ostwind! KV-8 rush + incendiary barrage + mass retreat = ? Death, death, death! OKW! Scavanger Doctrine! Aggressive sturmpios and truck pushing! Jaeger Light Infantry popping up! Obersoldaten wrecking all things fleshy. Volks with practically everything! Its like cutting his own throat, because penals are good against them plus the m3 sc. Maybe he doesn't know how to check his opponents first building. I would assume that a person of his caliber would know how to tier check, maybe he just planned to go for mechanized assault from the start. His OKW vs US holyhammer game comes to mind. Angreifien is a solid player, I think he would have stayed in if he still had the two paks and maybe not another stug e. He could have utilized that advantage by getting an early scout car to fight your peanls well before you could get enough gaurds. That's where a penal start would hurt you the most. Funny what you did to those supply trucks. Did you notice how many misses the t34 had while it was fighting the p4? Compared to the 85, I really don't like getting the 76. By the way you are a good example of why soviet mines cost should be increased to 45 muni, lol. One last thing I know u "luv" him, but can you please report him to relic? I was fully expecting a scout car rush, which honestly should have been a predicament, but I was confident enough that I could reach 2cps before he could/run into one of my mines. It is a key weakness in penal starts, but I chose that doctrine to compensate. Yeah when I saw the white borders I was like, hehe, this is going to be evil lol. To be honest, I don't like T34/76s most of the time either, but then that P4 would have way too much power to roam around. Shh...I love my mines. Besides, I was already strapped for munitions for the early part of the game. And I had two engineers. They were BORN to lay mines. I don't think it is necessary to report him, he may just be venting out frustration when losing which is understandable. He's certainly not the most mouthiest character there is. In: Replays

Going against okw is a little trickier, but the kinks shall be worked out. Featuring: Soviets! Guards Motor Coordination! 4x Penal Start! Combat engineers on mine removal duties! Thread: M4Cs are fun!30 Aug 2014, 04:35 AM Kind of uninspiring title, but w/e. Instead of my usual spiel, I'm going to go a bit in depth of my strategy against okw using Lend-Lease Doctrine. Basic build order is: T1 (you can T2 fake if you wish) 2x Conscripts 1x Penal 1x Conscripts Flamethrower Upgrade Molotov Upgrade Usually I roll with 2x sniper + DSHK / 1x sniper + DSHK depending on enemy composition. AT Grenade Upgrade T4 building (or, if really dire, and you are close to 9CPs anyway, wait for M4C Sherman.) 1x SU-85 1x Sherman Additional Sherman if you find yourself in need of more armor. Optional Kaytusha if your enemy is camping. So the strengths of the strat basically boils down to being a very flexible and versatile army, basically touching almost all points of a well rounded army. It can be incredibly hard to stop a versatile army assuming you are able to reach that point. You have penals to satchel charge any forward truck, conscripts to dole out molotovs/AT grenades/merges, snipers to put that mp bleed, and a DSHK for suppression. Armor comes with a versatile medium tank and a long range tank destroyer. The primary weakness is if the OKW rushes a Panzer 2 Luch. If played well, this will absolutely destroy your infantry and just give you a massive headache. Be smart with mines and use only at grenades if you don't take much damage in the process.
