Hey there,

got bad preformance in main menu, just running on 15 fps and some fps drops later ingame which are pretty annoying.

Specs:
Win 10 64x
Am4 Aorus Ultra Gaming x470
Evo 970
32 gb DDR4 3,2 ghz
RTX 2080
Ryzen 2700x

How can this game still run like crap (drops below 60fps that causes mini lag), any solutions out there?

Would appreciate your help!

Thanks,
BlackKorp

To "fix" the fps issue in the main menu, you can rename the video files in \Steam\SteamApps\common\Company of Heroes 2\CoH2\Movies or just rename the whole folder. I only renamed the ones used in the menu / lobby, so campaign ones still work. This will boost fps, but it still wont be amazing. Stops it feeling laggy though. Note: if you verify the game files, it will undo the above.

Regarding game fps, not a lot that can be done really. Is your CPU overclocked at all?

What is your FPS? I noticed that this game uses CPU quite alot comparing to other games. You'll never get a constant FPS with this game. Try setting physics to low, this takes a lot of CPU. I upgraded to a new graphic card without changing the processor and performance increase is minimal. I wouldn't worry to much about the main menu FPS, i also get 15pfs. This game is crap from performance point of view, i don't remember a worse one. Just restart after every game like everyone else and you should be fine. Your CPU is fine, i have a much older AMD and i get playable FPS.

Thanks for your helpful Tips, now i got only a black backgound but decent fps in main menu, like 80+

My AmD ryzen 2700x is not overclocked at all. How many Cores does this games use, 4 or more?

i got like 60 - 90 fps in average (max settings), but these drops to like 40-50 fps suck because u can feel a lag when this happens. Ah and i play on 2560 by 1440p.

Will try now to set physics on low.

Thank you,

Cyanara made a great guide (originally on CoH2.org, but because he isn't staff anymore, he can only update the Steam guide) on performance. Do give it a read!

Thank you, did like all. Windows x64 just installed last week. No background crap is running, no nothing but it's basically this
"I last bought a a Ryzen 1600X and Geforce 1080, with 16GB DDR4. I can max out any game but COH2 still performs almost exactly as poorly as it did on my 7-year old Core i7 960. "

Like it seems its just CoH, :( Glad they develop AoE IV, ha april fool.

PS: even if i go down to 1920 by 1080 the preformance still remains the same as it seems.
