Bare infantry sections pushed to fight tanks

I noticed that some players deliberately push infantry section blobs to combat tanks and throw artillery flare, while risking casualties. Is this a planned move to create general cancer and mental stress ?

UKF's Anvil Specialisation has Airburst Rounds, which impair tanks in an area-of-effect around the shell. If they're throwing flares at tanks, they probably have that ability.
