Engineer Veterancy, none from mining?

I have noticed that soviet engineers do not get credit for kills from mines, and so do not get veterancy from it. Why is this? Is it the same for german engineers?

Ahh yeh it is even like that in CoH1 actually and something I've never actually taken note of. Not a bad suggestion I think.

yes, exactly, coh1 had this implemented.
I don't see why it can't work in Coh2. Relic, any thoughts on this?

No, what he meant is that engineers didn't get vet for mines in CoH1 either. So this is just continuing with that system.
Engineer exp requirements would likely have to be increased a lot if their mines counted for exp, which would make getting experience without mines extremely hard.

I'm quite sure engineers got veterancy from their mines in CoH1-

Units laying mines definitely get EXP for the kills the mines made in CoH1. I think the only exception was the M8.
I'd like to see this re-added as well.

Ohh my mistake I misread this thread as sweeping the mines, not for the kills! My mistake.
Yeah they definitely got exp kills from mines. Vet3 engineer in 60seconds, only with mines!
