Vickers UC versus Wasp UC

I've usually always gone with the flamer Universal Carrier because it does good damage and clears garrisons. What's the advantage of the HMG version? Is it just the munitions suppression ability or does it have other advantages in the damage department over the flamer carrier?

i use the vickers upgrade on open maps. it can allow you to rely on its supression and ignore the HMG vickers.
flamer upgrade obviously, usually, on urban maps
