Is it possible to modify spacing between squads?

I've been wondering about this since the last time I tried and couldn't get a successful result. What I'm looking to achieve is to reduce the space between squads when multiple squads are being moved together. If you need to know what I mean, just select a bunch of infantry squads and drag right-click in a direction and see them fan out into 3x3 positions. I want to reduce this spacing between each of the points. Has anyone been able to do that? May you help me?
