Why wouldn't have I played? I suppose you are speaking of 2v2s, otherwise the opponent really lacks map control. I'm not so sure that you can or can't shoot through the hedges as I started vetoing that map recently (thanks to how I don't know, and don't want to know where to move in 1v1s). But anyways if the opponent is building a mortar pit it means that it's -1 section on the field or anything. And I think that against brits you should always be on the move.
Back to topic: I wrote that answer in regards to 1v1 games. 2v2s need a totally different approach.
