Uhm... that would be kinda hard to implement considering it's not an FPS...

Far from! We could have a tabletop mode where you select units with your fingers and point to spots. With the right tools, APM should go up

Indeed. I was talking about this a few months back. Would be a cool use of VR. THe map laid out all in front of you and you can just look and move around it. No scrolling necessary unless you want to. Those kinds of things should be easy mods for games with custom resolutions and better underlying engines... but coh2 is feeble in that regard.

I don't think it would work well to actually play and command units, especially with motion controls, but it will work EXTREMELY well as a spectator option. SBS 3D with positional and head tracking is a huge deal folks.

Though I don't see Relic doing it, they haven't mentioned it in a looooong time.

Lol, good luck with that with the current tools. I honestly don't really know what you're expecting from Relic even, they take 2 weeks to fix a bug and months to replace portraits.

I think theblitz and Rappy make good points, even if this is not currently feasible. I don't really know whether it is or not, in any detail, but I would certainly expect things to move in that direction sooner or later. Our brains are built for interpreting a 3D world, it is entirely sensible to take advantage of all our innate systems for judging location and distance and access them directly rather than translating them through the likes of a mouse pointer.

It will happen sooner or later. This year, next 5 years, I don't know about that. But I'd be quite surprised if the real militaries weren't working on exactly this sort of system right now.

The single biggest reason COH2 won't be coming to VR: Performance. It's a really poorly made engine on the performance front, even on desktop. VR requires a whole other level of performance just to stop you throwing up every where.

But also, this game's style of play just isn't suited to it. It'd be all pretty and stuff for the first 3 games, but then you'd get a bit sick of losing within the first 10 minutes every time.

Look how runs CoH2 without VR.

Now think about VR and laugh :snfPeter:

That's touchscreen, not virtual reality.

Out of everybody here I think Cyanara understands best why this is not feasible, as well as myself since we're both computer specialists, we ought to know what goes on in the system.

Sadly guys I really just don't see it as good as an idea it might be, just not possible, or if possible then it will be time and money Relic are not about to risk if you ask me.
