Current meta-game

I haven't played CoH2 in months and I'm looking forward to getting back into the game, as I've always enjoyed it a lot. I've played several games as SU this week, with quite a lot of succes: I won every match except one game vs Ostheer. Must be mentioned however that I've only played randumbs.

I currently have two go to builds (obviously straying from these as the situation demands it):

1. Cons & maxims + AT gun & shocks + T70 & SU76 + "stalin" for SU85 if possible

2. Many cons (+ doctrinal AT rifles) & snipers + T70 & SU76 + "stalin" for SU85 if possible (tried it twice, two victories against unskilled players)

My questions are:

what is the current meta-game for the other factions?
Am I correct for thinking that German factions have a difficult time atm?
Which units have lost value?

Thanks in advance!

Axis metagame is pretty much the same as it has been for a long time, MG - 3 gren openings is the thing right now for the most part, adding a sniper is strong also

For okw, the same stuff works, just don't always make IFGs since the nerfs have hit them a little

USF - Basic Rifle spam in to Cpt and Stuart, same stuff as it have been for a long time, the new thing everyone likes is CalliOpieOP, you see that almost every game right now, especially in teamgames

UKF - I have no clue what these tea drinkers do

Axis are having trouble right now, maxim spam came to the meta again, CalliOpieOP is well, OP etcetc

Is the Ostheer thing still to grab fuel and munitions and dig in? The game I lost was to an Ostheer player who was rather aggressive.

Hello.

Depends on your gameplan. As OST player, you have the tools to be both.
You can either massively invest in teamweapons and play the long game or go for the throat and rush 222. Some commanders also dictate your agressiveness like Assaultgrenadiers or ostruppens.
The era of mass bunker is over from a long time, but OST still have strong defensive options.

OKW = Blob + Attack move then save all fuel for King tiger.

Ostheer = Didn't change much, fairly balanced, fun and flexible.

USF = Calliope or Pershing. Also Bazooka blob is a thing now.

UKF= AEC's are the dogs balls, some say artillery cover from the tactical support regiment is OP, but in my experience it only works with players with poor awareness.

USSR = Maximum maxim to the max. Also Land Lease is really popular.

Whatever you do avoid these like the plague:

-Partisans, annoying fly top the enemy, even more annoying to your teamates, because they are that bad.

When you know how, or more importantly WHEN to play partisans they are DEADLY.

From my experience:

OKW- Blob Sturmpioneers, Volks and/or Panzerfusiliers + Sturm Officer D: Get Panthers and Super heavy tanks. I dont know if anything's really changed but ever since the resource buff a few months ago, i feel like OKW are fielding more units before (often more than Allies)

Wehrmacht- MG42 spam. 1-2 snipers against Brit because theres very little counter to that. Ostruppen spam to hold off Allies while MGs + Mortars decimate allied infantry. Oh, and waaaaay more Panzerwerfers now. Ever since the PZWerfer buff, it's been wiping out squads left and right so more players are using them to deadly effect.

UKF- Less Churchills, more Fireflies and Comets (too bad Cromwells are still unpopular). Nothing noticeable on the infantry side.

USF- Pershing and Calliope. Pershing because USF got no heavy tank and Calliope because USF got no real anti-blob unit so those are used quite often.

Soviet- Not entirely sure, actually. I haven't seen that much Maxim spam, probably because Maxims are more demanding than MG42s to micro (sorry, the 'faster deployment' thing is not as good as the insanely wide firing arc and fire rate and incendiary ammo of the MG42). I think Soviet players do tend to get Katyushas to deal with the blobs.
