Hi need help.
So I have this squad that can construct a production building, but the squad needs to reserch a squad_upgrade to unlock the building in the build menu. Makes sense.
So here's what I did -
Added the squad upgrade to the building's requirement_ext
Added the building to the squad's engineering list
Added the squad upgrade to the squad
Added everything into the game to be used in-game
Okay, so that makes sense. But in-game, even after researching the upgrade, the squad still can't build the production building. It has the circle with the diagonal slash (meaning that it can't be constructed). May someone please help me on solving this?

You'll actually need a player upgrade for that to work, since the building can only check the player for upgrades and not the squad that is building it.
So make a new player upgrade, have the building require that, and have your squad upgrade give the player upgrade to the player when it's purchased.
