Suggestion on how to avoid arty

Hi

we arent pro gamers, me and my friend just play some 2v2 for having fun.


Actually we dont like that after the patch, it looks like COH 1, arty spam everywhere, we usually use wehr + Okw, and we also tryed opposite.

Any suggestion to avoid arty spam ? maybe we camp too much ? when we get the 2 vps and fuel and then put mgs and keep the points instead of push again with all forces.


Any side that suffer less from arty spam then others ?

You pretty much answered your own question :D
An enemy wants to break your fortified and static position, and arty is an obvious choice. Your stuff won't run away, and depending on how much you bunch up, it will always hit something.



Your options in a nutshell:
- be more agressive, and push further - having more map control is always better
- counter-arty
- get units behind enemy lines, and kill it
- in case of B4 / ML20: try Stuka bombs (offmap special from doctrines like Jaeger Armor, Close Air support, etc...)

And most importantly:
- spread out



In general i would consider Axis to suffer more from all kinds of indirect AoE fire, but overall all factions have some sort of arty. So, you're not really safe with any side.

The best way to avoid arty is to listen out for some heavy caliber guns firing. If you can hear them, immediately move any unit you think is spotted away from the area as 9/10 times, the enemy will try to bomb any concentration of units.

Its a bit like dodging grenades, except instead of looking for windup, you'll get an audio warning.

An arti is a big investment... be more aggressive and dont allow your opp to get it.

Dont forget to select the right commanders... if you are playing OKW + Ostheer the Ostheer player should have at least on counter to potential ML20s
(Stuka dive probably one of the best counter + recon overflight)
If you are dealing with light arti (USF Howitzer, mortars) try to use the german mortars (counter barrage can be very effective) or go for Spearhead doctrine (that one with the mortar halftracks)... but keep in mind it will be less effective against ML20s

OKW is very vulnerable to arti so the Ostheer player needs to focus on the counterparts
Stuka also not a bad choice
leave the ML20 uncountered is probably the worst thing you can do (the OKW player will lose all his buildings really quick -> Game over)


Dont camp... if you have secured 2VPs harass the thrid one or the cut-off/ fuel/ammunitions points.

You should go for cutoff point because with that cutoff you can deny him resouces.
