Is it worth?

or useless?

sometimes, some players produce this unit for flamethrower.

FlamePenal with M3 is powerful than FlameEngi.

and sometimes satchel charge is useful for destroy bunker or building.

but that is all.




anyway, soviet can't produce this unit since the doctrine is selected :(...

I quite liked the penal battalion. Once (back in closed beta) I had one of them before I got guards unlocked and managed to keep them alive during late game. Then I had an engagement with a panther: left with no AT I only had a conscript, a guard and a penal squad. I buttoned the panther, threw a at nade and a satchel charge. I did pretty decent damage :D.
tbh I think the timer on satchel charges should really be a little longer but only so, if they make grenades dodgeable, too. Your English is fine btw.

I really like the penal squads. For maps with strong choke points I prefer them over conscripts. The build I use is rifle command -> penal -> scout car -> penal. The first penal moves into the choke area in the scout car and flanks whatever is there. I guess the german player could throw down a mine at the choke and hope the scout car hits it, but I've never had it happen to me yet. You basically get to have whatever part of the map you want.

They are really good against dmg engine tanks actually...Just saw a replay of them using satchel while the tank could barely get away and they "almost" killed it.
