Uh no, Panthers were classified as medium tanks by the Germans. It probably would have been considered a heavy tank if it were a Soviet or American tank though.


Panter was classified as heavy tank during the war and reclassified to medium after the war.

Same thing about Pershing. During war - heavy tank and after war - medium.

But let's not forget, those are not mediums like Sherman or T34.
Thery are just before the line where heavies start but still at the end of mediums.
I would say between mediums and heavies.
Not mediums but not yet heavies.

Although Panther is more debatable than Pershing on this matter.
