How to fight US as Soviets?

Any tips? I played a custom game against them and the American riflemen tore all my conscripts to pieces. IT seems that they are better in almost every way compared to conscripts. Additionally my maxims get flanked, smoked and fragged even when conscripts are guarding their flanks.

The USF has very little to counter sniper/guard/M3s- mix in a couple of conscripts w/AT nades or mines to deal with the M20 (guards don't work very well against that particular unit due to high HP + smoke) and finish off with a call-in of your choice.
