If someone at Coh2.org could organize a 4vs4 exhibition tournament , it could help to put some light on that mode of play. Surly, It would be a incredible moment to watch and cast.
Like 4 teams only exhibition event !
Team of pros from others game modes could form dream teams.
Just imagine those matchs : (as an example only...)
Jesulin + USA + cruzz + VindicareX VS Barton + Siberian + Devm + SturmTigerGiap
OR
Romeo + Zoro + Corp.shepard + Ginnungagap VS BlanCat + Nyx + Jadame + Sully
OR
Team Inverse VS team ImperialDane !!!
Maybe the Relic's devs could form a team ? Peter ?
That would be a great event !!! I dream of it !!!
I think it would help Coh2 in moments it need help.

Honestly, im not even into watching 2v2's. Its just not interesting. Why on earth would you want to watch 4v4's.

Kreatiir: I think you are missing the point. This could indeed attract a lot of new players to this game. Just showing how massive and epic everything can be.
Hell, I even bought CoH1 for the first time after I found Krebs shoutcast of the 4vs4 allstar game between some of the top players back then. And I'm still around.
dasheepeh: Some people actually are interested in the aspect of teamwork. But I guess we're all different, some people actually watch golf and tennis too.

The logistics are a nightmare. Tried to host a few 4v4 tournaments, the largest one had three teams signed up and only one of them showed up on the day.

There is an ongoing ladder out there. Its just not very active due to the balance of 4's.

I dig what Voltardark is saying, get the most pro guys in to PLAY THE SHIT out of 4 v 4 and go utterly crazy. It would be pretty awesome to watch, even a small demonstration / show tourney the guys he mentioned.
I know lots of my friends on Steam who love big games would be all over it, to pick up tips and.... lulz.

also timezones would be a nightmare. Sagwa (blancat) lives in korea so he it would be very difficult for him to play against Sib who lives in england, etc.

Think there's nothing wrong with making a draft, we can always postpone it. Pete, give it a shot, the man asked nicely 
Edit : I could ask Noun to get some devs in. I'm pretty sure that the casual gamer will dig an epic 4v4, massive battle scenes do well on teh Facebooks

Just this morning on HelpingHans stream their was a player in his 4v4 game that didn't show up until 20 minutes into the match.

I think this would be a waste of time. At least until the game gets fixed for the factions are in a horrible state and 4v4 would just be an insanely stupid Spamfest.

I understand why games like LoL and Dota2 are so popular when they are pure team games. Why can't we do something similar with CoH2? Is the playerbase too small?

Because COH2 isnt a free MOBA, and because its balanced for 1v1 / 2v2.

It's why i'm suggesting an exhibition event, it's why i suggested team of top ladder serious pros and limited to a max of 4 teams.
The teams would need substitutes to replace someone not showing.
It's to create some sort of happening.To put the spotlight on a great part of this game.
We would also need a casters and game analysts.
I'm sure Twitch and Relic would help too.

First of all, the said top 10 players are 1v1 players. Oh the irony...1v1 players to make 4v4's popular. Why not take the top 10 - 30 4v4 players then? oh wait
Secondly, 4v4 streams are both a pain to watch and to cast let alone analyze.
And the whole thing is extremely difficult to organize.
We need to create momentum, yes, but i dont think this is the way to go.
Its way too hard to organize and execute, and the majority prefers to watch 1v1's / 2v2's anyway.
