It obviously depends on the map but in general:
-Wire off green cover on the side your opponent will generally be attacking from
-Wire off shortcuts through walls to force your opponent to take a longer route to attack you
-Use wire to create lanes your opponent has to go through if they want to advance, and then set up a kill zone on those lanes
