All those things. It's fast enough to flank heavies and TDs. But has range to hold off offenses. If you ever get on trouble just pop smoke and run.

i always go for a timing push when i get a puma, you can bring it out quite early, and theres not much that is really strong against it until medium tanks.
keep it away from at grenades and dont hit mines, besides that i keep it in comabt and push the lines with it until i see some kind of tank and then ill start playing a little more cautiously with it (keeping it out of sight and bringing it in for a flanking hit and run, then go back in to hiding)

It's best as a defensive unit when you know your enemy has an AT advantage over you, best as an offensive unit when you know your opponent has little AT or sends in a vulnerable armor'd unit into your territory unsupported which you can fire at from a distance safely and slowly advance on it, or get around it and do more dmg, or ofc wait for vet 1 and stun it.
