Holy crap, those visuals. And, by the sound of it, that soundtrack.
If it wasn't for my utter incompetence at Arc Systems-fighters I'd be all over that thing. Then again, I haven't tried BlazBlue or Persona, both of which supposedly have some of the best tutorials out there, so maybe I could learn them.

It most definitely wont be out for some time as ARC can be pretty slow at times.

Was quite a bit of fighting talk on the last The Fourth Player podcast episode, where they were hanging out at some fighting game tournament event in Melbourne.

I now have Persona 4: Arena, and I've figured can't quite figure out how to play ArcSys. I'm way too used to footsie-style games like SF and Tekken. It seems more like a game based around movement, setups and combos, and I'm not familiar with the systems for either of these things yet.

Thank god for the autocombos, though. Means I can put at least one of these things on hold and focus on movement first.

edit: okay, after a set with some friends yesterday I learned quite a lot about the movement system. And holy crap, the amount of options you have is amazing. Now I just have to learn some BnBs and I'm all set.

Probably gonna main 3rd Strike Chun with an aegis reflector Mitsuru. She's really great in the neutral game, has great damage and is relatively easy to use, with her only weaknesses being relatively slow normals and a very mediocre mix-up game outside of specific setups. I might try Yu as well, who at the very least feels good even though I don't usually like vortex characters.

..and now Namco does the same thing with Tekken.

Shame it's only for PSN at the moment. On the other hand, it got me thinking about the f2p-model on fighters(which they seem to be experimenting with now), because it very well might work. A model where a certain number of fighters are unlocked to start and new are added later for a fee, and pay for cosmetic stuff. I'd definitely prefer the "all fighters for free" to "weekly rotations, but you can buy your mains"-model, though, but even that could work. Also, no leveling bullshit. :(

edit: and in other unrelated news, according to this thread it appears that King of Fighters 13 is close to be released on Steam. I'm not sure if it's true, but I sure as hell hope it is true, because I've been drooling all over this game lately and really, really want to play it(and hopefully the netcode gets improved).

again it might work and it might be a good thing for the scene to have a large influx of players. hopefully it will reach the PC to gain even more players.
