Such a fan of the COH series and it's so frustrating to see THQ stuff up a game that is so amazing.
COH-O was fantastic if you could look at the game without worrying about the balance, what made it so fantastic was the fact that it allowed newer players to experience the COH engine.
I really wish the Relic and THQ made a combination game with both COH-O style in it for social games and a COH competitive mode which is expertly balanced.
COH-O could have done so well had they balanced it better and gave people an actual reason to purchase real credit, it's truly a shame to see them give up on the whole concept when some refinement could have seen a potential mega hit.

Man, coho was fun as all get out, but it wasn't competitive. You had to get a whole different game for the competitive part.
I'm feeling that the next coh will be the result of someone saying, why not get both?

Maybe the solution is to have the choice between simple 'vanilla' factions for competitive play/automatch and player progression/commander archetype for fun casual lobby games

In the end I hope they can combined them into one mode, but chances are its going to be very hard to balance so separate modes might be the way to go.
