I understand your concerns, but open in a new tab or not should be a user decision. In every modern browser you can set if links should be opened in a new tab or not.
My surf behavior changed the last years, I click left if I want to open in the current tab and middle if I want to open in a new.
Livestreams cannot open in new tab

Hicksi, if it makes users life easier, we could implement this "new page" thingy tho. I am with you on that matter, but i do not see an apparent reason to make livestreams links to behave differently than other links if we have that "switch" anyway.
