There's much more in Africa than sand - it doesn't mean desert and only desert you know. The siege of Tobruk or the two battles of El Alamein would make some pretty cool maps

Really big, mean looking 88mm canon wielding Tigers
The allies captured their first Tiger in Africa after a fight with a lot of Churchills. Reason why it was abandonned was because one lucky shell got stuck in the turret rotation ring thus making the turret useless, the armour itself wasn't penetrated

With a stuck turret and tanks flanking you, you might want to reconsider that

Can't really fight with a stuck turret, it wasn't even in a firing position...
