Works really well on the large maps - the ones where strafe is hardest to counter.
Basically you have to rely on Manpower, Munitions and micro to carry early game so you can conserve fuel to afford T3 and T4. I get T1 instead of T2 to conserve an additional 10 Fuel. Only get 1 T-70 to counter halftrack and harass then tech straight to T4. Once you have 1 Su-85 then you can back build T-34 to support. Sometimes they will get P4 before you have T4 built - don't panic and make T-34 that is a lost war. Damage P4 and quickly get T4 up for Su-85 and try and work around P4 do not be tempted to make T-34 until after Su-85 out. This game illustrates that.
After that you can make snipers to support infantry or spam Conscripts or Elite infantry. I find this strat works really well with Conscript support doctrine.

On larger maps you can honestly simply avoid strafing runs, the problem is all on small ones, where a strafing run can totally pin you in base since it covers all the entrances.

On larger maps you can honestly simply avoid strafing runs, the problem is all on small ones, where a strafing run can totally pin you in base since it covers all the entrances.
True small maps allow for easier base pins, but Strafe is also an issue on large maps such as Pripyat River - Perma-Strafing the junction where the 3 VP's are clumped together can allow the Germans to VP drain you. This strategy works just as well on that map as well.
