More resource doesn't mean you will win definately.
It could be a bounus to lead to victory. However, you have to balance your manpower and your fuel, ammo income. Never lose too many manpower for getting additional resource, especially you don't build any tanks to change those resource into your advantages. That will be in vain for those additional resource income.
If you take a problem or difficulty in your stride, you deal with it calmly and do not let it have an effect on what you are doing then victory is yours.
