Lost a 2v2 as OKW with a random Wehr teammate. I'm a relatively average player (not novice, but not expert). But I just didn't know how to counter the consistent infantry push from the soviet player while the American player was doing a really good harass with the M20.

Play soviet which are easier to get good with in the early to mid-game and more forgivening if you do mistakes. With new patch OKW mid-game can be very tough against aggressive allies.
Axis in general need to stall for a strong late game but average players imo should focus on learning the strength/weakness of allies early-mid game. Once the early game is solid you can move on to focus on other things.
Then later use that knowledge learning to play Axis. It's fine to have a favorite faction to play but not 100%. Need to play the other factions abit to understand the strength/weakness of all factions.
