Thread: Grens...28 Feb 2015, 08:41 AM Keep in mind that if grens are made 5 man, they would need to have their DPS lowered by 1/5 as well. Because right now, if an ostheer squad wants to be equal with a soviet 6 man squad, it as a rule needs to do 50% more DPS due to the higher soviet squad sizes. However, if grens were made 5 man, then they would only need to do 25% more DPS in order to compete. LMGs and G43s would probaly have to get nerfed as well. In: COH2 Balance

As for tellers i double pack them together lategame when i have muni.If i'm using muni conversion even more so. Btw ur opponent must have been pretty shit to lose is-2s to paks and p4s unless he hit a mine. PIVs are much more efficent againts infantry than t-34/76s. If your opponent is stalling for call ins, you should be able to bleed his MP quite bad before he gets it. In: COH2 Gameplay

The only thing it actually beats is t-34/76 and even thats not certain despite substantial price difference and mp teching disparity. P4 IS USELESS vs is-2,completely useless..a piece of junk metal.A single shot won't penetrate.Also helpless vs t-34/85...basically no chance vs soviet lategame armor.So t-34/76 isn't the only one that scales badly. Also soviet fanboys plz explain how pz 4 with teching costs 350 mp and 125 fuel.But t-34/85 no teching at 360 mp and 130 fuel each.Total bullshit,because it beats pz 4 effortlessly.Pz 4 is just vet fodder for allied medium call-ins - e8s and t-34/85s,jacksons,and soviet heavies. Oh please. I have taken down many tigers with t-34/76s and zis-3. And i have taken down many IS-2s with just PIVS. Learn to micro, and use teller mines. They do help. Not to mention the PIV is heaps better againts infantry than the t-34/76, you should be able to bleed him quite a bit by killing his infantry. In: COH2 Gameplay

Not sure what high level players you've been watching, but I can't imagine they can be be that effective with a four MG BO. Ever played vs Paul AD? Maybe not 4 mg-34s, but 3 mg-34 is perfectly viable. In: COH2 Balance

I play Ostheer just as much as I play OKW, and LMG grens are good, but they still blow ass against Rifle hordes no matter how long the game progresses. And Volks costing 240 is going to fix literally nothing, yeah 5 extra MP big whoop. So which of the OKW doctrines with mg-34 is bad in yor opinion? Oh , and ostheer can indeed spam grens. Have you never faced someone who spams 6+ grens? It's what you do when someone spams conscripts againts you... And of course the OKW mp float needs to be fixed, not the mg-34, the mg-34 as a unit is fine. In: COH2 Balance

Why would something that's worse cost more? And it's still a 4 man squad weapons team that takes additional fire thanks to the received accuracy negative modifier. Like Christ on a cracker what is with people and thinking things that are shittier should cost more? Yes it's worse than the mg-42 in ever way. But that does not matter since OKW can easily spam out 3-4 of them while still easily being able to have 4 volks 2 obers and still have no problem getting a panther. Play againts an OKW player in the top 20 or higher, and you will see what is the problem. Ostheer cannot spam out 3-4 MG-42s, because they wont have enough grens then. OKW isin't hampered by such issues. Of course this isin't a problem with the mg-34 itself, but rather OKW suffering too little MP bleed. In: COH2 Balance

But at the same time they have perhaps the worst support weapons and baseline infantry in the game. Its my opnon that volks only get on par with the other baseline infantry at vet 5. And be honest how amny vet 5 volks do you see running around. in long games i usually have 1-2 of them and at that point they still can be one shotted. And then their is the support weapons who are absolute thrash. The okw already gets some massive income penalties that gives them the right to vet 5. they dont need another added to it. If you believe this will somehow fix shrek blobs then i will say you are wrong. The okw is going to need shreks to deal with usf and SU medium armour spam because 1 panther is really not going to cut it against 4 85's or e8's MG-34 > MG-42 Infact the MG-34 is quite overpowered due to the fact that OKW can spam so much of them with little to no side effect. Ostheer MG-42 is alot worse due to hard teching costs. In: COH2 Balance

I'm not saying OST is at a disadvantage againts USF in 1v1. Infact on most maps they probaly are, but i think its more of an issue with the bad map design rather than ostheer. Genrally vs USF i like to go do this 2x gren 1 mg gren > T2 > 222 > gren. 222 IS not needed if he doesn't go m20 but he probaly will. Important thing is that your first munitions should go towards flamer pios, not LMG grens. Despite what some people say "stick together, focus on one area of the map" i disagree. If you focus just on one area, you get flanked and die horribly.Instead spread out your grens, use cover...But don't spread out too much... Try to 2v1 his rifles when possible.. Even though rifles do win vs grens at all ranges, a gren squad in green cover will win vs a rifle squad in yellow. Since you are playing defensively, you should get the superior cover position. Use MG-42s right,predict where your enemy is and you should be fine... Panzergrenadiers are quite good on closed maps. Infact on a map like stalingrad it's a good idea to make like 3 panzergrenadiers. Infact againts USF ostheer on stalingrad isint so bad, just vs soviets it's hard.. In: COH2 Gameplay
