Thread: What good is the tiger tank?9 Jun 2015, 08:23 AM I honestly have no idea why people prefer the IS-2 over the tiger. Except for the IS-2s higher armor, the tiger is pretty much better in every way. IS-2 has slightly higher pen while the tiger has a higher rate of fire thus making it better againts tanks ( or at least all allied tanks except IS-2) , tiger also faces significatly weaker AT than the IS-2 and tiger is also significantly better againts infantry. IS-2 is more durable, but that's about it... In: Lobby

Thread: M8A1, StugE 4 Jun 2015, 12:01 PM The STUG E is OP because it completely removes any disadvantages you would normally get by stalling for a heavy tank. With any other doctrine, stalling for an IS-2 or Tiger will leave you quite valnuarable to infantry and medium tanks until you get 11 CPs. However later on you can come back since you have way more fuel because you didin't tech. With this doctrine, there is no disadvantage since you basically get the most cost efficent infantry killer in the game, and still don't need to tech. That said, with the current state of ostheer teching, this unit is kind of required. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: epic!! t34+sherman countering elefant+KT lategame3 Jun 2015, 17:02 PM Jump back to quoted post3 Jun 2015, 17:00 PMNosliw btw i was being sarcastic in my first comment. im just tired of allies complaining about late game axis armour when they have access to heavy tanks, tank destroyers (jackson, su-85), and mark vehicles, all of which do very well against german tanks. i swear most people in this don't realize how balanced CoH1 was and how the ONLY heavy tank for allies was the pershing which was almost never fielded. long gone are the days where allies have to use combined arms of at guns, tank destroyers, artillery, and well executed flanks to eliminate armour. at least most games. this replay of yours tells a different story. And also long gone are the days of coh 1, where late game wasn't just about heavy tanks. Long gone are the days of allies having good non doctrinal late game infantry and long gone are the days of AT guns with 100% penetration againts tigers and panthers. In: Replays
