The "Oh what commander is he/should he pop for this scenario?" drama in matches would be elevated higher than ever. Force different playstyles, force adaptation and encourage and reward big brain preparation for certain opponents etc Or just bring back Commander Terminator. In: COH2 Gameplay

Power should be distributed among units of a given timing. Right now, losing the MG42 to an easy flank or even being slightly too late to the right position results in a massive disadvantage because Grenadiers cannot keep up. The T70 for Soviets has a similar role: If it gets trapped into a Teller mine or a Panzerfasut + Pak40 combination attack, the Soviet side is in a difficult disadvantage. This balance is massively better than COH2's past of gimmicks, but since we're getting another patch we might as well discuss what can be done even better. Well, wouldn't softening the key units require a lot of changes across the board, which is too much for a single patch? In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Osttruppen12 Nov 2020, 22:52 PM Jump back to quoted post12 Nov 2020, 21:02 PMClarity Honestly its pretty simple, Ostruppen allow you to skip Tier 1 which lets the Ostheer player rush out a 222/Flamer HT before Soviets could realistically have any counter allowing them to be snowballed. Make Tier 1 not cost fuel and add the fuel Tier 1 cost previously to BP1. Put Panzergrenadiers back into Tier 2 or at least require Tier 2 to be built if the Ost player wants to build them out of the HQ. If that isn't enough then you require the player to have to have Tier 1 in order to have faust access on them, or maybe require both Tier 1 and Tier 2 to be built so very early light vehicles have a window against them. How about swapping Grens and MG42? Of course, some timing adjustments would be necessary since MG42 would take ages to hit the field this way. In: Lobby

I have to disagree. 7 man as an upgrade is always strong (when compared to upgrades such as the StG, MG42, BARS and Brens) based on the improvement it gives to the squad. The reason why 0 vet 7 man Cons are comparable to other upgraded infantry is because standard Cons are intentionally shit. But since the upgrade is cheaper than most other upgrades I'd say it's a pretty damn good upgrade. Also using Vet 3 Cons is a pretty bad comparison, even to other vetted infantry in my opinion. The gap between Vet 0 and Vet 3 Cons is huge. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: MG42 over performing 12 Nov 2020, 21:44 PM Jump back to quoted post12 Nov 2020, 20:49 PMgbem objectively the issue with the 50 is timing arc and tech considerations while the dshk is doctrinal while having worse arc and later timing.... ohh and both are deathloopable... subjectively id say the 50 and dshk are veeery slightly worse against infantry due to deathloop timing and arc however have an added bonus of completely destroying all light vehicles due to high penetration... There are literally no issues with the dshk and the .50 cal (except maybe the dshk's EXTREMELY small firing arc). The .50 cal is retarded to play against because it packs up and sets up so damn fast. The smaller firing arc isn't that much either. Then again, I guess it kind of has to be OP since LT doesn't give an AT gun. Doesn't change the fact that it's an extremely frustrating unit though.
