Now personally, since everyone in charge is firmly against allowing Conscripts to have PPSh's, I still think a new dedicated Assault unit using either Conscript PPSh or a marginally weaker (but not Pioneer weak) variant would be a welcome addition to the faction. It would also have the benefit of being easier to balance, since anti-tank grenades or merge might be too versatile for a dedicated assaulter. I would give them F1 Grenades, based off weak Panzerfusilier grenade, and maybe the ability to toss 3 RPG-40 anti-tank grenades (Weak no-crit ATnades from Anti-Tank Conscripts).

Because it requires investing manpower and fuel that does not contribute to the tech and can't be equipped at enemy territory, it can also drop, while STGs can't.
Even if StGs could drop, who would ever waste a weapon slot on them? I totally understand the part where the StG upgrade comes fast and can be upgraded out of territory. However, I don't think that BARs making Volks completely obsolete and forcing LMG Obers is a good design. I'm not calling for a big buff, either the StG upgrade doesn't take up both slots so Volks can pick up dropped weapons, or rework their veterancy bonuses a little. |
Price tag, dropability. The 33% loto... really sucks. How much are STGs? 60?
Also, its how non-doc USF competes with non-doc elite infantry. I believe MG34 Obers shread them.
StGs are also 60. I can understand if USF needs them to compete with Obers, but such a design, where BAR Rifles are needed against Obers, but make Volks completely obsolete, is just dumb. At least make the StG upgrade not take up all slots so Volks can actually pick up BARs. Or, rework Volks veterancy bonuses. |
I think if the PPSh's are going to stay the way they are, they should either be reduced to 40-45 and made 1 CP or give them 1-2 more PPSh's per squad so they at least beat 5-man Grens at close range.
Given the poor survivability of individual Conscript models, I think giving them extra PPSh's isn't as good as directly buffing the ones they already have since model drops are going to hit their DPS harder. |
Why does a single USF BAR do more damage than both Volks StGs combined at almost all ranges? At least, that seems to be the case when I look at the stats on https://coh2.serealia.ca/, although I could be wrong. |
I have zero computer programming experience, but I feel like this is a feature that could be written in in a single work day or less. I don't see any negatives, not sure why it doesn't just exist as a matter of course anyhow?
I don't think you can assume that, especially with CoH2 being poorly optimized and designed. The coding in this game is so complicated that it doesn't even have proper modding tools, and even the attribute editor isn't very clear either on basic parameters that define units. |

T34 is gonna need something, whether it's a discount or extra pen, because these timing and ram changes are sounding brutal.
The ram change is honestly a great idea. You're not gonna try to ram a with T34 without expecting it to die anyway. |
well, gotta make people want the molitov upgrade somehow right? the performance of the molitov certainly doesnt create desire....
I honestly don't understand why Soviet AT grenades and molotovs were designed this way. Molotov should be tweaked to be the same as the USF molotov, and the AT grenade and molotov should be bundle together into a cheaper package (more expensive than an individual upgrade but cheaper than both upgrades). |
