allies are aggressive and axis are more defensive. at the most basic level, defending is always going to be easier whilst aggressiveness having much higher potential for bigger rewards at higher levels.
This, pretty much.
I do agree with the OP though, in the context of 3v3 and 4v4 (yes, we all know that all bets are off in those games and balance goes out the window). Those MG42s are ridiculous right now, and easy to obtain. They can be beaten , but it eats up time, and resources, and focus, while it's brainless for Axis to just put them in every available building. I love playing Allies most of the time, but I know that after the 15 min mark, it's going to get tough/ impossible. I'm not bad either...I think I'm pretty good with the small unit tactics, but it's just that the Axis get more powerful late game, period. I know that if I want to have fun and not grind my teeth in frustration, I should play Axis.
Again, I love Allies, but with Axis, I go heavy T1, watch unit preservation, get LMGs, and go for tanks. After that , unless I play incredibly stupidly, I know we'll win.
And yes, I take exception to those players who shit talk, and try to tell me that playing Axis in large team games takes "skill", and that theyre "pros". |

Not sure about skill levels, but I'm fine with all the basic aspects of the game. |
Ya a cmdr with a sniper option or a air born sniper ( the fun Axis would have scrambling to find him! )
I'd just make the sniper a standard unit, available through LT tier, but maybe have the option to also train a marksman in a para chalk, at the cost of making any additional weapons unavailable ? Then they could fire at 25muni per shot. |
Damn right. Rangers, 1st Special Service Force, something like that. Bring the US sniper back. |
who the hell blobs sturmpios and wins?
No one said anything about winning using this strat...the argument was that Allies blob and expect to win. Blobbing is an equal opportunity tactic. |
Guess my almost 200 games with over 2/1 w/l ratio as soviets means nothing. But don't worry trolls once I get up to about the same with USF your shitty arguments will crumble to dust.
I don't play USF because they are just a cheesy early game factions that falls flat on their face if they don't abuse cheese. Sorry, not my play style. I am only playing them to appease you whiners.
Once they make USF less cheesy and make them more well rounded, I'll be more inclined to play them and actually enjoy it.
USF are not cheesy, and they hold up well, if you know how to play. I'm not a pro, but I recognize that pros know how to maximize USF advantages, without being cheesy. When I play USF, I know that I can't afford to make many mistakes. I've been beaten by USF as well, when I've played as Axis, and seen some sound, tactical gameplay leading to a victory. Your comments come across as, "I'll play USF when it's easy". |
Yes very much this......Relic please don't listen to the allies fanboyism.....but people since beginning of coh 2 have been just a click moving into enemys blob vs blob wars like it is ww1.....for the first time it feels like people need to use flanks just like coh 1...it feels so good now....people here instead finding new ways with current resources are just complaining so that they can again easier time just roflstomping mg lines......relic plz think of your own..don't let anything fanboys say filter your thought.( i don't know what i just said )
Yeah, because that's nothing like the volks blobs I've been facing every game ? Some players even blob sturmpios. Axis fanboy. |
Pound for Pound, Axis armor is more expensive. Other than that? Yeah naw since the SU-76 and Stuart buff the only really objectively bad Allied tank is the T34/76
That may be, but we're discussing the smoke ability...are you suggesting that since they're more expensive, they deserve that ability to increase their survivability ? If so, I would counter that their firepower is sufficient to account for their price. Not only that, but at that stage, there are swarms of elite infantry to back them, who typically make short work of your TDs. |
Yes, there are many "escape buttons" in this game, but all things being equal, all things are NOT equal. Pound for pound, Axis armor is stronger. So +100000 to the OP. This is a super lame, get out of jail free card, for tanks which are already stronger, to keep getting vet, avoid dying, and do shit that no real tank commander in his right mind would do, e.g.: run into a wall of AT simply to spot for an arty strike. It's just goddamn ridiculous, and fucking retarded. |
The disclaimer: this was a 3v3 on Agermuende.
Yes, a team game with randoms, and yes, I know that draws bad players. Still, I argued with a team-mate about which was more viable: he stated that camping was valid as USF, since if he left his position the flank would've fallen. Hint: the flank had already fallen. I suggested that whoever makes the most progress against the enemy, in terms of territory, resources, etc..should get support from the others if possible, as it is easier to support someone who's got momentum , than bang your head against the MG, bunker, panzerschwere, etc...wall. I don't have a replay, but am I wrong in thinking that supporting a team-mate who's on a roll is the right way to go ? |
