Thread: [2v2] Double Wehr vs USF and Soviet4 Aug 2016, 05:19 AM Hey again, I know this is a double post but this was a fundamentally different issue, different map, etc. Not sure what I should've done... could've got a 2nd MG early, and I could've bought a PaK40 earlier while we were cut off from our fuel and needed some AT, although everything ended up working out at that time. Was I too aggressive on the opponent's cutoff? Should I have gone more to the middle and tried to hold the mid vp and the house to the bottom, then hit the cutoff? My friend and I, despite sitting right next to each other, had some communication issues. I didn't tell him I was flanking the captured MG42 in the house in the north so he bought a flamer upgrade for his halftrack (I don't know why he thought that was a good decision... I told him he should've used mortar smoke/built another mg/upgraded to flamer pio and got a 222 or a PaK instead). Anyway, I didn't like the Soviet's build and I know that I could've beat him in a 1v1. He went for a ZSU from T3 then for an IS2 and used a blob of 3 flamer penals & 3 cons. Thread: 2v2 Double Wehr v Double UKF4 Aug 2016, 05:13 AM Hey coh2.org peeps, I'm wondering if you all could take a look at this replay. My friend and I are playing 2v2s more this week and we really had some struggles this game. I believe the main issue was 1) our squad preservation 2) Mortar pits I think I lost 15 infantry squads in this 30-40 minute game which is absolutely absurd. I think I could've incorporated a sniper into my build, or rebuilt a mortar mid game, or something. I just don't know what I could've done to push into the middle more, or if we should've pushed north into the vp. My buddy said that he didn't harass it much and when he tried to push mid-late game, He was up against some absurdly entrenched position 2/ 4 vickers and mines everywhere. Rough remembering of our ranks is in the replay link. Thread: 2v2 Double Wehr v USF, Sov4 Aug 2016, 05:07 AM Another half decent game. My partner and I are ranked 1,239 according to CELO vs Soviet (1,411) and USF (unranked) In the early game I was aggressive on the opponents' cutoff and my buddy seemed to be struggling vs. the USF. He told me after that he had trouble with the mortar pit and he told me he upgraded to flamer HT to deal with captured MG42 in the house (don't know why - that was a poor choice of resource use). That was a communication issue, as I was going from cutoff to mid/trying to help him and stop the vp drain. again, any tips and advice would be useful. thanks coh buddies. In: Replays

Main culprit seemed to be the mortar emplacements. My partner and I were ranked around 1,100 as double Axis before this game started. Thread: Let's Talk: Sd.Kfz. 2222 Aug 2016, 07:32 AM I think Budwise made a post a few years ago about there not being side tech in a lot of the factions and how it made him not like coh2. I could see a 20 fuel 222 at 220 mp w/ a 50 mp/10 fuel 40 second side tech upgrade. Honestly, I think Luvnest should make a mod to have ostheer be the 1941 blitzkrieg that he wants it to be. P3s should roam everywhere and it would be great. I could overhaul every faction and make them better and coh2 would be better. don't even get me started about WFA... In: COH2 Balance
Thread: New CoH2 Players2 Aug 2016, 07:21 AM Well, there could be people smurfing. It's pretty easy; just make a new steam account and do family sharing. I've thought about it, trying to see how my 1v1 ranks/ win % would change in one certain patch, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. There could be more people coming from coh1 (I played against Hulksmash sometime this year in coh2). The top 10 coh1 people shouldn't have any real issue w/ coh2 because the mechanics are so similar. It's just about being comfortable with the units and adjusting to build times and whatever. Right now you can buy all 5 factions and all 3 ToW packs for $60 USD so that's a pretty good deal if you've been eyeing it for a while. In: Lobby

Thread: USF mortar and OKW mg31 Jul 2016, 07:37 AM Not reading all of the posts here, and none in detail on the second page, but I can say to OP that I played a game as USF on Road to Kharkov against an OKW guy ranked 514 and he blobbed to my cutoff the first 3-5 minutes. Had to get LT for an MG/suppression and, luckily, he was stupid coordinating his Luchs/infantry and i killed it with an AT gun/capt/rifle AT nades. That being said, it would be great if everyone had an MG in T0 but then that would be boring af and not help w/ asymmetry. I'm a firm believer that the faction design for OKW/USF is bad. It would be 10x easier for balance if all tech was linear (like Ostheer...hey, hey, hey!) with side-tech options like Panzer Elite/UKF in coh2. I agree with whoever said the USF mortar should be a lighter version of itself (I believe that, at some point in an alpha, the US had a light 60mm mortar - that would be nice). Mortars hard counter MGs and USF nades are expensive fuel wise. I would like to see riflemen smoke @ 20 muni instead of 15 and a 60mm USF mortar w/ lower damage and AoE. As Skemshead said above, USF (and all factions) should get non-doctrinal access to flamethrowers. Man, I could go on and on about what each faction needs and what Relic should've done/should fix. The newer the faction the better the stuff (no white phosphorus for ost/sov; volks get an upgrade that prevents them from freezing to death, previously an important yet annoying aspect that required micro and attention; no AT in USF Lt. tier; no Wehrmacht light tank; crazy OP Brit off-map abilities...though they have been nerfed). In: COH2 Balance
