Thread: How to Make Howtizers (not SPG) more Viable in Team games ?11 Feb 2021, 00:28 AM The way I see it, rocket artillery has a distinct advantage over traditional artillery for the fundamental differences in what they do and their mobility. The problem with the on-map artillery is that a good player or a good team will have a counter in their commander for it. Even in 4v4 there isn't a lot of flexibility in an arranged team in terms of commander choice. I don't really see a way "fixing" it; often good teams that try to use artillery pieces will keep building them and invest in AA vehicle to shoot down incoming aircraft or spotting aircraft (this is harder for allies as the stuka dive bomb doesn't come from a plane). Any feasible option now is just too late and I don't think Relic would want to spend their time working on it. In: COH2 Balance

I see how even doing that would be difficult because there are so many values for even a single weapon, and there are so many weapons...but is there also some software that one could use to organize that data after having it look through the file? Thread: It's time for Main Gun Crits to go12 Dec 2020, 04:38 AM I think the main gun critical ought to be removed, too. Only because it can have such a huge impact on a game because of how valuable vehicles can be. I do like RoastinGhost's point of subtle and numerous RNG events. There are a bunch of criticals that were in the game that we don't see anymore (or are rare), such as main gun damaged/gunner injured that increase reload time. There's also a "turret destroyed" critical I remember from the beta days (it was cool on the Ostwind; had a damaged turret model too!). There could also be "machine gun destroyed"/"machine gunner injured" that could disable or impede a machine gun's operation (similar to turret gunner killed crit from coh1). There are a lot of things that could be implemented if they're balanced, but I think that the main gun crit is definitely one of those that ought to be cut. As an aside, I'd also be in favour of coh3 using the equivalent of "tourney mode" tuning pack that ML uses to be employed in automatch and/or in temporary "league" modes. this would let "fun" randoms/criticals stay in the game but let those who want a more competitive game have their game (with no vehicle abandon lmao). Think of this idea as to what they did with cold-tech, where it's still in the game but not in automatch. In: COH2 Balance

Unless Axis heavy TDs like Ele and Jagdtiger are going to get their ranges reduced, ISU shouldn't be touched OR should be compensated to be more mobile. Is the ISU's HE broken? Yeah, I'd say so. But it's such a crutch that making it more vulnerable will put late game soviets in an incredibly precarious position without some compensation from the axis side. In: COH2 Balance
