Thread: How to get YOUR tournament promoted on coh2.org!10 Jun 2021, 04:22 AM Hello everyone! GBPirate here. If you’re interested in running a Company of Heroes 2 tournament and want some advertising on the front page of coh2.org and its social media I’m your man. I've got experience writing announcements and updates for the Master League. You can find a list of those posts here to get an idea of what yours would look like. An introduction to your liking — funny, serious, or something else — and then important tournament information. All this for not even a pretty penny! I can also post on forums like Reddit and Steam to help you get the word out. If you'd like, announcements can also be made on coh2.org's official social media platforms such as the Discord server, Facebook page, Twitter, and Steam group. We'll get the word out! Message me on Discord, Steam, here on .org, or just post below! A high-quality and informative coh2.org tournament announcement will include almost all of the items below: One art image of 850x252 pixels The art should have a logo and/or words to indicate what it is. Look to past posts on coh2.org for an idea of what these banners look like. Tournament details like Who is running the tournament? You, an individual? A clan? Who can sign up (invitation only? Certain ranks?) How to sign up (via Discord? Replying to the announcement post? In a separate coh2.org thread?) Tournament seeding — automatch only? Using overall competitive rankings? (A_E’s ML Table) Important dates and times such as Sign up open/close Checkin open/close Tournament start date + time Other tournament days Tournament Organization Rules: Either link to a separate document and/or include rules in the post Commander/bulletin bans? Map selection? Anything else Are you looking for referees? Winning prize What is/are the winning prize/s? How many positions will receive a prize? Jump back to quoted post27 May 2021, 05:26 AMTric Take a tree or anything similar to that, that has fx files tied to it properly, that you like. And assign that object the one you want to be on fire. This used to be the workaround when they broke doing it properly and I'd have to assume it is still broken. Thread: Abandoned Dacha27 May 2021, 01:49 AM Hi everyone, Here is a link to the steam workshop page. Made a map for the Master League's map making competition. Feel free to leave feedback here or, preferably, in the Master League. Basically, you've got the centre piece and namesake of the map which are the ruins of a great estate. Towards the axis base you've got an overgrown circle with crumbling statues. Towards the allied base you've got the muddied remnants of a reflecting pool. In the top of the map you've got a forest and the south a ruined village and remnants of a recent skirmish with some destroyed tanks, craters, etc. Final housekeeping thing to do is remake the minimap which isn't quite reflective of the current state of the map. Thread: Adding fires to map objects?27 May 2021, 01:16 AM Howdy folks, I came across a burning tree in one of the stamp's in Monolithic Bacon's "Bacon Box" (circa 2014; definitely a blast from the past for us in 2021!) and I'd love to know how to set other objects on fire. Specifically, I'd like to link a fire and smoke marker to a car. It looks great in my map but once the combat gets going there is going to be a Kennedy-like eternal flame in some non-descript hedgerow in digital USSR. I know there's a short article about setting buildings on fire via scar coding but I don't think that's what I'm looking for. I've checked the scar file on the map i'm working on and it looks normal to me. In: Mapping Discussion

I was happy to create the blizzard event for everyone. Idk how popular it was in terms of viewers but it was fun to put on. And ML4 with the non-blizzard winter maps was a real treat, too. Thread: Grittiness before the time of WFA 20 May 2021, 02:51 AM I was convinced they were going to double-down on the Eastern Front because there was so much potential that they hadn't touched. Some of the shit you hear in the vanilla factions is really awful. You also commit a war crime every time you shoot the writhing infantry models btw. I think for financial reasons they decided to go with WFA because they had many of the assets for the setting already. It might have been already decided before launch (or the planned launch) to "return" to coh1. You'd have to ask a dev. I think with many ww2 games there is a lot of opportunity to really milk the shit out of the game and coh2 is no exception. There easily could have been late/midwar vs. early war variants of factions. German allies could've been worked into the game as their own faction and a Tales of Valor style mini campaigns for those factions created. In: COH2 Gameplay
