Thread: Finally some balance, what to do now?11 Mar 2014, 16:29 PM The whole idea of game reviews is kind of outdated if you ask me. Games evolve drastically past release and a review from 2 months ago doesn't reflect the current state of the game. People also tend to be overly critical of games because it's always cool to be high brow. Interestingly enough, a good number of those bad reviewers have over 300 hours of play time. Thread: Ultimate guide to further improving coh211 Mar 2014, 14:58 PM I appreciate the spirit in which this was written but a lot of these suggestions seem out of touch while others hint at a poor understanding of game mechanics. For instance, rear armor does exist. And while there is no side armor, there's a 50% chance of hitting the rear armor from the side because the front and rear armor are split in the middle of a vehicle model. This works pretty well considering the simplicity of the damage model. It's the good kind of RNG that evens out over the duration of a game. Also, do you know for a fact that infantry damage is not health based, cause it looks health based to me. It could be just that the health is an attribute of individual squad models. So while a squad could be at 80% health, 1 member may be close to death and seem to crit when shot. In: COH2 Gameplay

It doesn't give you a counter, if you struggle for example againts a flamenwerfer,then you will still struggle againts it, you will just know that one is coming. I think he meant there's no skill involved in obtaining the information provided by radio intercept. What the player does with that information is a whole other matter. In: COH2 Balance

Which I like too, call me skizo. An unlockable upgrade could be added upon reaching T3/T4 which would enable penals to purchase a single shrek or ptrs. In other words, T1 could remain the dedicated anti-infantry building it was designed to be until T3 or T4 hits, at which point, penals become a bit more versatile. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Marksman Squad27 Feb 2014, 16:18 PM You're basically pointing out that the current sniper is a hard-counter unit in a soft-counter game and you would like to bring it in line with the core mechanics. I like your idea. It would be do-able and probably easier to balance in the long run. I doubt it will be tried though. The choice to include snipers as they are was deliberate and Relic would rather try to balance the unit or its counters rather than make drastic changes. In: COH2 Gameplay
