A total of 7 mines were hit and 5 times out of 7 I had fresh, full hp squads get wiped by this mine. the other two times were also full hp squads and they lost 3 models. These mines were fine before the patch, hopefully Neo is right and the changes to the AOE profiles for tank shells and grenades caused this "bug". Sweepers do work, but the fact that you can pretty much reliably trade 30 muni for a guaranteed squad wipe is kind of ridiculous. +1 In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Assgrens are worthless with 320MP21 Feb 2014, 19:38 PM They are awesome in how they're one of the very few early shock units the Germans have. They're great at flanking and cleaning up emplacements in the early going, where it would take Grens nigh on a century to clear a 6-man support unit (without them running away). They certainly are risky in 1v1 but like everything else, less so in 2v2. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: crossing in the woods as german21 Feb 2014, 00:15 AM I have to agree mortars are pretty key on this map. The river and the trees offer a buffer between each army. I haven't gotten a real handle on this map yet but it's definitely important to use indirect fire and cover your cutoff and retreat path. It's very easy for Soviets to flood the field with cons and then make emplacements to shell you out of position. The East side is tricky because of that house just before the river on your side. There's also a lot of stuff like trees and fences that help his cons squeak through your flank and chew up your MG. Only played a couple times on the map- so these are just early impressions. By the time you can get back on your feet and gain some map control, the rushed T34 is out on the prowl and the shock troops are vet 2. Those shock troops allow soviet players to relax... I find that playing as Ostheer is much more challenging than it was prior to the patch. I still enjoy it but I see myself losing more than before. This is generally how I feel. You have to conservative as all hell and LOSE NOTHING. Seems like when the game is almost certainly over for the opposing team, some hilarious example of RNG will happen with a mortar or something and then we'll get a minor loss that turns into a big loss and next thing you know, their uber call-in tank is shelling the shit out of you from across the map. It seems like the current meta is for the Soviet player to flood the field with infantry or emplacements and try not to be completely destroyed before the big call-in tank arrives. It's just tricky putting so much pressure on when their ability to call in and tech up is inevitable even with no map control. In: Ostheer Strategies
