I think that thee received accuracy will have the same effect as armour vs small arms but not this stuff so the switch will have made the obers and pg's more squishy vs t34s etc. It's the other way around. Infantry Armor only protects against small arms fire that does not have enough penetration to punch trough the armor. All explosive weapons and fire-based weapons have enough penetration to always punch trough the armor of infantry. Reduced received accuracy works against everything that uses accuracy. This means that there is a higher chance for tank shells to roll a miss and scatter against these units. Now, this effect is not that significant, because the chance of a direct hit (a shot that does not scatter) against infantry is very low. But it's still better than armor. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Is there actually any point in counter sniping?16 Aug 2014, 11:41 AM 10-12 counter snipes is 900-1080 man power damage inflicted by your 360mp sniper. I'd say your sniper was worth it even if you did not finish of one of his snipers. But going 1 sniper against 3 sniper teams is pointless. The enemy will likely move his snipers together, so if you snipe one there are others that can fire back. You will only get a full kill if you get lucky with that vet 1 shot. Having 2 Snipers would be better, since you can then take out 1 of his sniper squads and hopefully re-cloak before the other snipers can shoot you. Scout cars are tricky, if you are going to use them you have to make sure you have mine-sweeper pios nearby to check for mines. There is nothing worse than trying to chase snipers or flanking them and running over a mine. The best option is probably the mortar halftrack. Their fire grenade can quickly kill snipers caught in the flames. In: Ostheer Strategies

I tried to get it to attack some riflemen and it seemed to refuse to actually launch the rocket. Most likely it was because they were scrambling about and throwing off it's arc, but I did notice it being very particular in that firing mode. You don't right-click to fire the rocket at a unit like you would do with any other unit where right is move/attack. You select the sturmtiger, hit 'R' (or 'Z' if you are using grit-hotkeys) to select the firing ability, and you left-click on an enemy model. The rocket is an 'ability' that does not auto-fire when you right-click an enemy unit. For the Sturmtiger right-click is movement only. Edit: So just to be clear, you always left-click to fire the rocket. Left-click on an enemy model and it will track, left-click on the ground and it will not track. In: OKW Strategies
Thread: Too much RNG15 Aug 2014, 13:24 PM I don't agree. RNG is what makes this game hilarious from time to time. Like a plane crashing on top of your HQ, an enemy tiger getting decrewed in your base. B4 shots scattering perfectly on the only place where there are no enemy units 5 times in a row. It seems like that would be a good combination to get max range. Although I believe that you can't target units via IR scanner sight? That is correct, the IR scanner does not allow for direct targeting of units. However, it's still not a bad combination if you can afford it. The Sturmtiger out-ranges normal line of sight. So if you spot something that does not move, like a stationary support weapon, a squad capping a point, or a stationary tank, you can reduce them to a pile of smoking dust without them even seeing your Sturmtiger.
