Thread: Can't stand ground against allies8 Jun 2015, 17:00 PM I've had this problem recently too. I used to play OKW a lot, but recently have been play Wehr when using Axis and they are really fun. Recently though I've been on quite a losing streak with them against the US in particular. I just find their infantry pushes me away and I have a hard time getting back in the game. I do go for a sniper, but they usually have an M20 out by then which chases it away, and I have lots of trouble fighting it off with T1 units. Faust works, but they seem to get away or chase me away with their own infantry and then quickly repair it. Teller mines more often? Go for more MGs than just one? I think last time i just went 3x Grens into Sniper, but he had the houses and I couldn't displace him fast enough. I figure in hindsight I should have run away and taken other points instead of fighting him in the house. In: Ostheer Strategies

So long as you keep it in your base, the LefH can do some good long term damage. I've happily got those things up to vet 1 and left them on overwatch for serious lengths of time in 2v2's, small maps are its friend. Every mortar or AT gun barrage on the map is now gonna get shelled. It's micro free for me and forces my opponent to constantly be on his feet with his indirects and generally suffer attrition even if he is, and I can always toggle it off if I want to hit something specific. Oh that reminds me, I tried sitting the LefH into Counter Barrage the other day, but it didn't do a thing, despite my opponent using the Katsusha all day every day. Was it just out of range or something? I also thought Counter Barrage increased the potential range? I might be wrong. Basically I turned it back to manual firing because it didn't do anything. Thread: How to start PvP as an AI player?5 Jun 2015, 13:56 PM I personally enjoy 1v1 more than anything, but that's the case for all Strategy games. I just find it's so much more 'focused' I guess, and I don't need to worry about other players being available/skill mis-match etc. That and the games are generally faster, I can't stand hours long games. Etiher way, playing against humans is day and night vs playing against the AI. In every strategy game I've played, as soon as I start playing against real people I never touch the single player again as it's just too dull. I've never even really touched the single player of any CoH game, just gone straight into MP! Just play, ask questions, watch replays if you really get into it. Feel free to ask your opponent if you get stuck 'how do I deal with that?' in a polite way. Just say "I haven't seen that before, do you know what I should be doing to beat it?". Most people are helpful and will tell you 'Oh, counter X with Y next time'. Ask on the forums too, there are a lot of really helpful dudes on here who have good knowledge about the game. In: Lobby
Thread: To many 1v1 sore losers in COH2..5 Jun 2015, 13:30 PM Oh man, I've had some classics. I'm not even a really good player, nor do I use 'cheap' tactics, but I've had some belters before. Using OKW once I got accused of using a brain-dead easy faction, OP as hell, broken etc etc. Using soviets without call-in tanks: T34/75s against my opponent, I got someone calling me a 'F*ing hacking piece of s**' and constantly talking about how 'OP and stupid Soviets are'. He then told me he hopes my whole family gets raped and dies of aids. He consistently told me I'm so cheap for using Soviets, to which I replied that I actually wanted to play as Wehrmacht but it was like 90% searching as Axis at the time :/ I've had a few times where someone screams blue murder at me for cheating or being lame or using a broken faction, only for them to come back and defeat me. I reply with a very polite 'GG! Well played bro! ' They always have a sheepish kind of "GG... you played well too..." response In: Lobby

But yeah it works best in 2's on up were it's 1 OKW player buff an Ostheer team mates vehicles. Since he can actually get a appreciable amount of them. Yeah, sad really. I really wanted to make Spec Ops work as a doctrine for 1v1, but it seems like it's built around team games. I can still use it and win, but it seems like a waste. I find myself using Infiltration grenades a lot, STGs to a moderate extent, but not much of the other abilities. It seems like it would work better if the Panther was in a different tier to Obers, since I could build Obers and then use the Command Panther to plug the hole for a medium tank. In: Lobby
Thread: Command Panther4 Jun 2015, 15:07 PM On the topic of the command panther, does anyone feel it's worth getting in 1v1? It seems to me that it's so expensive that if you buy it, you're not going to have much other armour on the field to benefit anyway. Or if it you do, it's probably just a Luchs. It seems like you're better off going for the regular Panther, especially since the doctrine means you're likely building the T3 truck anyway to get Obers to make use of the Vampir STG44s. In: Lobby

It's pretty nerfed, but it still should allow that ZiS gun to get one more shot when the tank is low on health right? I feel like it's situational, like if they are near death try and use it like a ghetto snare ability so you can chase it down or keep it in range, otherwise it's not really worth it. Thread: IL-2 Sturmovik strafe21 May 2015, 18:42 PM Huh, I was wondering about this. I took a long break from this game and got back into it recently. I love using Guards Rifle Combined Arms (Guards, HtD, PPsH, Howitzer and this Strafe). The strafe used to be really good, forcing retreats and damaging medium tanks, good for finishing them off in a pinch etc. I tried it when I came back to the game and wondered why I got such lacklustre results each time, I though it might have been RNG, but seems like it's been nerfed into the ground. Guess I'll spend that muni on PPsH, DP28 and mines instead. In: COH2 Gameplay
