Thread: Assault Engineers27 Jun 2014, 01:34 AM I'll play a few matches with armor doctrine. Prior to this, it looked to me that Ass Engineers got cut down pretty easily and generally lost in duels vs. Sturmpios (sturmpios starting doing good damage from long/mid range while AssEngineers do little. So let me think: 1-2 riflemen/officers, 1 Assault Engineer, and one 50 cal. per VP? 50 cal to suppress, and then AssEngineers to close in. Or riflemen to start working on the DPS, and then Assengineers approach. I never liked Ostheer AssGrens, shock troops, or SMGs. The point blank, non suppression philosophy is not my thing. I like flamers. But flamers for AssEngineers is too expensive to me as I use all the munitions for Bar or 30 cals. In: COH2 Balance

By the time 9 CPs hit, each P4 would need 160 muni each to get physical upgrades. Then a reserve would need to be stored for the self repair and HEAT. The coordinated barrage I saw looked pretty anemic and similar to the major's barrage. The Special ops doctrine is also designed to rush tanks (Command panther) but it offers some gimmicks outside of that. Thread: Volksgrenadier - er what ? 26 Jun 2014, 21:03 PM IMO, the only reason to use them is for the panzershreck, as a meatshield, and to avoid relying on rwerfer43. They do conscript like dps with their rifles. I think it's vital to pair them with an infantry fighting unit like sturmpio, FJs, or Panzerfusilier. The 2 synergize pretty well. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Sturm offizer and Panzerfusilier26 Jun 2014, 20:51 PM My last match vs. US went well. I used 1-2 x Panzerfusiliers + 1 x volksgrens with panzershreck on each VP. I also had a sturm offizer. Most munitions went to nades and panzershreck upgrades early-mid game. I got most of my soft target kills with pzF and they can see like snipers (or almost like them) and kite infantry. The volksgrens did all the vehicle damage until the panther rushed in. I did not make a single rwerfer. I made 5 x pzFusilier and 4 x volksgrens in the whole match. I only had 1 x pioneer. I built T1-T2, built T4, built a panther, and then built T3/muni to fuel conversion/repair shop. In: COH2 Gameplay
