Thread: Eastern Front25 Sep 2015, 16:13 PM Are there statistics about soviet shermans? I've never seen them. The soviet tankers had an unusually high death toll. I believe this was due to their practice of attacking directly into positions (over trenches, close quarters, urban/town) rather than engaging in stand-off positions like US tankers (with their less confrontational style). This leads to crews getting cut down after they are knocked out in say, a town. In: The Library

"Caen:Anvil of victory" popcorn is still being read for Caen.. The main problem with the east now is less quality and more in terms of gaps in coverage- this has to do with the gigantic size. Helion has translated a lot of good Russian books. (eg. Stuart Britton). Stackpole also publishes quite a few russian books and war memoirs. JJF publishing for the axis pov. And of course, western authors. There's also Glantz's many books. Jason Mark, etc. I can recommend at least 60 east front books worth reading cover to cover and far more for reference purposes. I really dont know if they changed it (the 40 minute video of brits strongly suggests its still very similar as before, the single raketen was barely denting its hp), but it had 280 frontal armor and... Someone said 1400 health in the alpha, but it sure is over 1000 hp. Oddly comet has 290... These WERE the stats before, or at least the ones i just believed as churchills did survive ass-poundings and my comet bounced pak40+ raketen in a row at close range... Dont quote me on this as it was pretty hard to discuss stats on Alpha forums without having someone who knew how to access them in the discussion. But its more appealling than the kv-1.
