Yeah, that makes sense. It was like that in vcoh, too. Soviets complementing USA Ostheer complementing OKW Maybe OKW has middling early, good mid game, poor late game, and good late, late game? Thread: Hands on Western Fronts Armies1 Jun 2014, 23:55 PM ^^ What I'm largely getting from this is that the OKW late game is probably 'unaffordable' and sturmtigers, jagdtigers, king tigers are formidable but probably hard to get due to the resource penalties implied by the vision statement. Panthers should cost a bundle as well as they do already in Ostheer. Personally, I hope having the Jagdpanzer IV, walking stuka and infantry is cost effective enough for me in 3 weeks... Thread: My Army Essence Statement - The British and Commonwealth1 Jun 2014, 21:36 PM Overall, I don't find any the US or British generals audacious in the strategic or operational offensive by a long shot (I have studied both west and east fronts), at least by Soviet and German standards. Soviets and Germans/Axis routinely risked entire armies and army groups. In the tactical defense (lower level, down to corps/divisions), the Soviets and the Germans were actually the static ones, while the USA/British were highly mobile. In: Lobby

They relied heavily on planning, firepower, equipment concentration, and logistics, and being armies of democracies they were very casualty sensitive. Thus, they rarely took the type of calculated risks (high risk, high reward) that the Germans and Soviets routinely took and this characterized their operations. Slow and steady wins the race. Overall, I believe that the developers won't put interchangeable (and thus redundant) non-doctrinal units in their faction concepts. OKW definitely is a 'late game strong' faction and the Panther is likely to be slotted there. Mid game to me is still speculative. In: Lobby
