To be honest, theres a lot I like about NKVD- radio intercept and commissar are great, and scorched earth is a super cool ability.

But I dont really like the AT overwatch ability, unlike AT loiters it's not guaranteed to do damage if you pull out right away(that's what she said), resulting in a somewhat expensive but very niche ability. Maybe not underpowered but not really great in 1v1s due to that niche nature.
The KV-8 is also one of those tanks that looks super cool on paper but in practice just doesnt have a place. To elaborate:
As your first medium with Sovs(and tbh most factions), 4 out of 5 times you will be grabbing a generalist medium-and basically for the same reasons all other factions get a generalist med as a first tank. But the T-34 has piss poor AT so unless you plan to swarm with them, your next vehicle is going to need to be something with a bit more anti vehicular punch, the Su85. This leaves your THIRD tank open for the KV8, and that is assuming you didn't lose either of the other two before you have the resources. On the other hand, the KV8 doesnt work well with the T-34 swarm because of its poor mobility.
I would recommend replacing the KV8 with a KV1 or some other medium-ish heavy or medium tank.

Meh. There are other abilities that work like this. For example, AT grenades once the animation starts will home in on the target no matter how far it drives away before the projectile is launched. I've seen vehicles 60+ range get hit by AT rifle nades because of the delay on firing(the delay being a problem, not the tracking).
At least loiters can be shot down, or even dodged once they have been triggered. I am not saying they are well balanced, but there are counter play options.
I don't think this particular case is one where you deserved to get away with your cromwell. At least he had to expend 200 munitions to secure what should have been an easy kill. Content yourself with that.

Well I think to problem is more the power of the Thompson Upgrade which is incredible, according to https://coh2db.com/stats/#, close range (lower than 10), Thompson (took from rangers squad since they are 5 man squad) has 24 DPS while de MP40 has 15, plus the MP40 has bigger reload time and smaller burst. For comparison, a squad of Panzergrenadier with STG44 has only 15 DPS close range.

While this upgrade was only on paratroopers/rangers/assault guard there was no problem because it's performance fit the elite-infantry role, but such upgrade is now on Assault section (UKF) which are the british counterpart of Assaultgren and therefore outscale them hard.

Im fairly sure the thompson upgrade only gives 2 thompsons instead of kitting the whole squad so not really a fair comparison there. All the DPS calculations on Coh2db factor in reload and burst.

You are also comparing the max vet thompson to the vet 0 panzergrenadier stg which is misleading since the PGren stg has 23 dps at max vet. The para Thompson has 18.4 dps at vet 0(not 24).

Nerf Hetzer to 251 flame HT levels, put it in BGHQ.

OKW benefits and it's less cancerous to deal with. Firestorm is also more viable cuz fast hetzer is a good solution vs mg heavy play which makes MP40 volk builds suffer.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking as well. You can have it be the BGHQ version of a luchs-just worse against vehicles and better vs infantry.

The armor would have to be reduced though to allow early game allied AT to be more reliable at damaging it. Maybe down to 120 or 140 so itll still shrug off stuart and T70 hits but be more vulnerable to zooks and PTRS. A reduction in hit points to 480 as well.

The cost could go down to 70ish fuel.

With the shift in meta towards callin infantry and G43s, cons have an issue today against OH without having upgrades of their own.

I dont find the upgrade unbalanced. It's boring, but I don't see OKW instantly seizing the entire map upon equipping volks stgs. Ironically, where I DO see that happening is when OKW is running up against stock cons or IS and start popping the MP40 upgrade. Good thing its locked behind an unpopular doctrine.

Please tell me you dont choose to forgo sweepers on your RE. That's a rookie mistake that I would make, not an intended tactic. Pintle are optional in the same way you may delay your STG upgrade by using incendiary grenades. That doesnt make it any less "boring".


I dont think it's fair to use grenadiers as volks only comparison. It would be like saying the Cromwell is a great medium tank and using the T-34/76 as its comparison.

I do NOT want to see the return of accessible self healing for volks. Its bollocks already with IS and at least that has a cost and micro tax attached.
