Thread: CP changes11 Dec 2013, 09:39 AM I don't think shocks coming a little earlier is too bad , because they are expensive and most people called them a little later anyway. There's no huge need to call them before you have 4 cons with molotovs. They will be nice against assault grens now though. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Patch Notes Discussion (Dec. 10th)11 Dec 2013, 09:32 AM I think Tiger Ace might be nice if it cost just 500 MP, plus the 10 min resource block. I've managed to save way over 800 MP before calling one most times. Ontop of two vet 2 PIVs. I kinda like the concept of it (similar to KT), but at the moment you call it it just gives too much raw powder on top of an already potentially full army. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Germans Anti tank capabilities.11 Dec 2013, 00:56 AM Exactly Ivan, the reason stugs are so bad ass, is because they are cheap on fuel. Against these kind of 34/85 strats, people need stugs, maybe a P4, and paks, play defensive, the paks are key. As your tanks edge backwards, the paks can stun. In: COH2 Balance

There is very little soviets have in their non-doctrinal units that can really present any danger to an elephant. The only thing I can think of would be to damage the engine and bring at guns into range. The reason I stated that combination of units, is because they come in the doctrine with the ISU, which is the unit we are discussing. Someone tried to say the ISU sucks Vs the Tiger.. but as someone else pointed out, all these abilities can really help you combat an Elefant with an ISU In: COH2 Balance
Thread: grenadiers in halftrack11 Dec 2013, 00:41 AM I have tried it, its quite tricky to pull off, mostly because anything skipping T1 leaves you without fausts (even on called in grens). But it can work. A friend used it well against me. Just get 2 pios, it does not take long to start pumping out PGs. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: "One-shot-wipe-potential"10 Dec 2013, 12:54 PM Yeah sometimes bundled nades take out an entire shock squad because they tend to all huddle up in cover (if youve not kept them moving). You forgot about the IS2 Its a valid point, but I do believe the designers wanted units to be more fragile than in coh1.. it was almost too easy to keep many many squads alive in coh1, if your micro was there. Also look at high level games, the Ost players dont seem to have trouble keeping a large army alive. Its probably mostly about the situation you put those units in, if they are out of position against the wrong unit, you could get punished. In: COH2 Balance

On top that, it costs more. There are plenty of ways to counter it effectively without having to resort to shenanigans that are all to common for taking out an Elephant or King Tiger. Ram may have been nerfed, but it's still quite reliable for taking out heavy tanks when you throw two at it from opposite sides. Like someone said above, guards, MT and IL2 bombing run are amazing tools against heavy armour. In: COH2 Balance
