Thread: Too much for one HMG (MG-42)6 Mar 2016, 18:04 PM MG42s are good, but they should be better. The others Hmgs need also to be buff to do theirs job properly. (Pinning any number of inf. squads in their firing arc/los). But they should do less damage as squads are crawling to survive) You walk in to the firing arc of an HMG you get pinned instantly. The HMG rotate to fire on you, you get suppress 1.5 sec then you get pinned. Just my humble opinion. In: COH2 Balance

The game as it is feel rather balanced and models preservation is of the utmost importance. The bug effect is somehow realistic and i like it. Go ahead and read my last sentence a few times, now replace the words Axis with Allied, also replace Maxim with Mg42/34. You'll get my point mate. "Hint" It's the same for both sides i understand you well and i didn't find it right either. All HMGs should be able to counter any kind of inf. blob coming at them from the front. Thanks. Voltar would cry if mg42 could actually suppress that way. I would be glad if the mg42 were as good at it was in WW2. It would bring : The return of flanking, the return of mortar smoke, the return of scouting, the return of many unused units. We would need too use all those units that sleep unused in our toolbox. Thread: Relic, OKW Needs the resource penalty back!4 Mar 2016, 23:55 PM Historically : German army was the best and had the best weapons. But as the war progress they became resources starved. Relic try to keep this flavor with OKW by giving it a resources penalty. But something happen and the original design was abandoned some patch ago. What if the panzershreck upgrade would cost less but also last about 2 shots/models ? Now they would think more before using it to kill infantry squads... Same thing could be done for their biggest tanks by using a refuel upgrade...lasting a certain movement distance... Sure those units would have to be retune for balance, but it would keep the initial flavor. What do you think ? In: COH2 Balance

You're surprised that your puny 240mp unit gets rekt by +700mp "blob". In my book, HMG should stop any amount of inf squad in it's arc/range. It's the way it should be. Thread: Axis blob (3+) destroy Maxim from front.4 Mar 2016, 19:33 PM Jump back to quoted post4 Mar 2016, 17:54 PMPanzerGeneralForever While the Maxim is designed to deal with massed amounts of infantry, its setup time and smaller arc make it a more mobile suppression unit and less of a mg wall unit. They are only being beaten because they don't have any units giving it proper LOS. 3 mobile units vs 1 unsupported unit should always be a win for the three or even two if used properly. Tips: -use 2 maxims covering each other -Demos and or mines. Assuming they have munis for flame nade then you should have munis for mines and demos. Maxims are fine. They only cost 15 mp to reinforce. Any good player will blob with a mine sweeper... or use walking stuka to clear a safe path. In: COH2 Gameplay

You lose out if you are playing static with them trying to use them as blob control like a MG42. Maxims are best used A-Moving around supporting Infantry. Either way, 3 Infantry should beat a single Maxim we don't want super Maxims insta-pinning multiple squads.. Maxim death-loop and flame grenades ARE a problem though. 3 con + 1 maxim won't do better vs 3-4 double shreckers either...Flame nades negate any cover. In any wars, none can ever run in front of any HMGs period. Those are made to be cheap to build and to create interdiction zone to infantry. That's why indirect fire exist. HMGs should do less damage but suppress more and have a greater effective sight/range superior to any grenades. Grenades are for close positions and flanking tactic. In: COH2 Gameplay
