You know what the best non doctrinal counter to Maxim spam is? Snipers, good Gren micro and Mortars.
You can throw some Mortar halftracks in if you want.

When you 3 idiots are done with posting the same crap over and over again go watch the replay and see that neither the sniper nor the mortar is a good counter to the maxim. Why do you ask? well the mortar is completely luck dependant and lovnest luck with his mt-ht was just bad. the sniper has just as little effect as the difference between a 1 man maxim and 6 is nothing not to mention they only cost 15 mp to reinforce.
Now go away and show us some fucking replays where you own maxim spam. |
Most soviet builds do not float munis. Whenever I play with conscripts, I never get more than 100-200 muni.
Soviet industry floats muni. And I can imagine spamming maxims floats muni, but think outside the box and stop spamming grens, it's easily countered.
So did lovnest and he won only because donut was so stupid to charge 2 t-34's and 2 kv8's into his waiting paks.Donuts early game advantage against lovnest in this vid is undeniable huge. Neither the mortar or the sniper did any real damage as the maxim only cost 15 mp to reinforce. i suggest we double the reinforcement cost of the maxim to 30. this stops spamming and forces the soviets to build conscripts for merging. |
This is laughable, Pgrens are actually pretty solid, you just have to use them with patience. They aren't commandos and they aren't meant to be. Use them at range. Grens are fantastic, with and without LMGs. If your up against PPSHs' they have a hard time but you can counter this with lmgs. They will shred cons trying to close the gap. Also, the heaviest tank you will have to worry about against PPSHs' is the T34/85, which is only in one of the doctrines. German infantry is perfectly viable right now.
The problem is that pg have a major role overlap right now with grens. they are simply not worth it as AI squads. still an excellent at support role however |
Some minor issues are still around but the isu-152 is a minor one sure its bit to cost effective but people their is reason you panzer jeager commander, use it. Soviet mines on the other hand are just wacky as these things blow german infantry up all the time and need some adjustments.
Panther is completely overnefed and need adjustments as well as the g43. and of the the mg42 being significant inferior to the maxim. but over all the balance is better then it used to be. after these tn=hings are fixed i have no doubt that the game will be solid through some maps need some adjusting. |
Quite simple. A good player will still try to use its MG42 both offensively and defensively. Living the Mg42 sleeping in a corner or in a building it's a L2P indicator. Try to use it offensively with your infantry. I guarantee your fingers will hurt. . Maxim on the other hand, can be easily used both defensively (there is no real difference while fighting from a building, compared to Mg42, except its crew), and offensively with a simple A-move due to its fast deployement time and absence of "owhwaaa" at the german side. Speaking of it, It's quite amusing to see soviet maxim catched off-guard when you try to flank/attack it with AGs. They are no used to deal with fast running infantry lol.
Their is a difference between mirco and tactical. the maxim is slightly more micro intensive but a moving is valid strat. With the mg42 you need to plan ahead. you need to scout , you need to in account where the flanking points are and cover them, you need to adequately support the mg42 while moving and most important factor of all: you need to know what the soviet army composition looks like before you buy the mg42.
For the maxim this is not the case its far more durable and flexible then the mg42 and with vet 1 it has just incredible staying power and anti flanking capability. right now both sides want each others mg. but while the maxim is a solid buy regardless what map or German army composition. The mg42 is on most maps and against most soviet army's a liability and i have seen people losing matches because they buy the mg42. |
Why do some players commit suicide not going T3? They just wait for the call-ins and meanwhile you come back to win it... I think all the units in the soviet T3 are good. And the same can be said about german T3, havent used the ostwind that much though. But I think T3 is very strong with both factions, a must.
As example the T-85 comes at 9cps. I much rather have the T-34 at 3 or 4 cps.
Taking out a at-wall isnt that hard with either the P4 or the T-34. GG.
why even bother with tier 3 their are plenty of tanks that can take the role of the t-34. you no call in comparison to the su85. going to tier 3 makes you extremely vulnerable to the tiger or elephant |
Haven't you learned by now?
If it can't be a-moved by grens or shrecked pgrens, its batshit OP and needs nurfnurfnurf.
And still you dont fucking get it. the problem is not the maxim. its the mg42 that is a problem.
and still you continually derail the argument. All in all the mg42 is in most cases a liability. people simply ram their maxims into a mg42 or they oorah a mg42 and displaces it. and that is on top of all the other neat toys the soviets have for displacing a mg42.
The lack of suppressive power of the mg42 should be obvious to all except a few fanboys.

LET ME MARRY YOU D:
may you have loads of brain-dead baby's together. |
Ok, so lets sum up:
If equal price unit of similar(not same) role is superior in some aspect for germans, its asymetrical balance.
If equal price unit of similar role is superior in some aspect for soviets, its bad balance.
Did I got you right? Because thats exactly what you have said.
I didnt say that .
If you are loosing to Maxim spam, you're doing something terribly wrong, like refusing to use mortars or snipers.
And don't give me crap about sov sniper, it doesn't exist in sov T2, if you refuse to use proper units to counter specific unit, its your fault, not games balance.
I didnt say that either you fucking worthless brain dead twit. when your done trolling i will take my leave. |
Why do we not see a threads saying "ZiS-3 is OP and needs nurfnurfnurf because it beats PaK40 and even PaK43"?
because of asymmetrical balance. The zis is more flexible because of barrage. but pak has superior AT power as compensation. Now we have a defensive mg42 and the offensive maxim. But the maxim surpasses the mg42 as a defensive tool as well. so right now we have the mg42 which requires massive amount of babysitting and is in general a liability and on the other side we have ultra flexible maxim that can even be spammed as a unit on some maps.
This is an imbalance end of story. |
