Thread: 120mm Mortars & Grens Vs Cons31 Oct 2013, 16:56 PM It doesn't matter if they are your top killers or not. What does matter is the fact that they RNG entire squads off the face of the map. With almost all Ostheer units being four-man squads it's very easy for them to be lost to one 120mm shell. I've seen many vetted-4 man squads get wiped out by one shell. A frustration that few Soviet fanboys can understand since they rarely lose entire squads in one shot. I bet that is the case with 99% of all other players too because close contact units are much more effective than a low precision big boomer, that fires a volley every 5 seconds and where the target mosten often has left a long time ago before the shell lands. Thread: Counter against 120mm Sovjet mortar18 Oct 2013, 14:20 PM One of the major problems with 120mm is that they have such a large crew and if I recall correctly you can still save the crew even if you only have one man remaining (he doesn't run off the map), but regardless its the squad size that really makes the unit a problem -- it's simply too easy to preserve the whole game and therefore spam the unit that is incredibly powerful. Thread: Ask the Strategist!16 Oct 2013, 13:23 PM Two Questions: 1. I'm having trouble getting the most out of Panzergrenadiers. For the MP cost to purchase and reinforce I find them ineffective, but I'm assuming that's just because of how I'm using them. I try to get them up close to other infantry, but even though their dps is good they still have the same HP and armor as grens and die pretty easily (its not uncommon to lose a whole squad to a random 120mm mortar shell). How can I make them work? Would going assault grens to skip T1 and get the PGs earlier in the game to vet up to vet 2 for the extra armor work? 2. The Opel blitz truck: all other things (e.g., mobility, build time) not taken into consideration, what is more cost effective, the opel truck or a fuel/ammo cache? In other words, which gives you a better return for your MP investment? In: Strategy Desk

By the time 1 cp is obtained you should already have or soon thereafter have access to PGs.
